Mr "Cry Me A River" (no offense to the song or the writer) really didn't have to solve a lot of problems. Now if we want to talk about some serious coaching lets start with Al Sims. Just look at all the man games lost to injuries. The make shift, patch work lineups. While you are looking don't forget the number of rookies that have really developed under his leadership. I am sorry but the only IHL Coach of the Year has to be Al Sims. I know I am biased but he is just the classiest coach and all around nice guy.

I've got to agree with Dennis. Al Sims has done wonders for this year's team. Guess the powers that be didn't want to give it to him two years in a row. What a shame!

Lets see. The team starts the year with a whole bunch of rookies, injuries so decimate the team that at one point only five defensemen (3 rookies) are playing, the team loses over 200 man-games due to various injuries and call-ups, the team goes 12-0-1 in the last 13 games and climbs the standings from 4th to 1st. How can anybody not make Al Sims the IHL Coach of the Year?

This is no different than last year a case could have been made for Stan last year and the run they made in the second half of the year and then took us to the 7th game of the finals. I agree what Sims has done this year is a lot better than what was accomplished last season.

Rigged, too many michigan voters. They shouldn't let the media vote, what do they know, they aren't the experts, the people of this blog are! That's why I voted for bobby reynolds, anyone that can win 1 game in that circus should go straight to the NHL.

You would think that the team that has to deal with the most adversity over a season, gets the most out of their players, develops new talent, and has the best record would have the best coach. Guess not.
BTW, I finished 9th in the voting for the PA announcer of the year. Oh well, there's always next year. BTW, there is no announcer award (belated April Fools and hope everyone enjoyed meeting Wayne Gretzky (don't blame me for that one)).
The real award and reward is when you have the Turner Cup over your head and the championship ring on your finger. Let's Go Komets!
