Some Random Thoughts:

Stop bashing Chaulk. He is a key part of this team.

How'd I know that the Frankes, who do not read this blog, stole Mighty's moniker of King Kong Henley??? LOL Never fails. Funny stuff from a couple of business men who can't even type an email, but they sure know how to rip off nicknames that bloggers coin. See Schrocky Balboa.

Henley was great moving the puck. He did well clearing the front of the net. The first E-ville goal was because his linemate got out of position and allowed a Eville player backdoor directly behind him in front of the net. Not King Kongs fault even though someone is looking to bash him. He skated well, he is huge, he moves the puck, and he is sound defensively. Sgroi had 2 shifts tonight, one before the fight. Last game, that animal was bullying everyone from Llewellyn to Molles and we had no answer to his antics. Evansville seemed softer tonight because of the space and physical presence that Henley provided. Oh, and he can play hockey.

Smith is the real deal.

Apod played great and has had a high fever today.

Auger impressed me today. He had some great looks.

Schrock, dude never quits and gave 110% every shift tonight.

The fight changed momentum tonight and it got the crowd into it, and it sparked the team. Period.

Also....Big Al mixed the lines. And it paid off.

Smith, Chaumont, Benne.

Chaulk, Apod, Auger.

Rizk, Mele, Schrock and Leo spotting everyone.

It worked out well.

Guy is a great guy. LOL He is a class act and a true Komet in every way. I am happy I got to enjoy the majority of his career.

Nice Win tonight. The game picked up nicely in the 2nd and ended well. Entertaining. Fun. Komet Hockey. As an Advertiser I feel awesome.

Not to get in the king kong debate, but was it all his fault? I said it immediately as the play developed that Henley didn't pinch back, but seeing the replay on the board it was Milam's guy that he disengaged and let float back for the score. Henley was covering the Evansville guy on the left of Bouch. Either way it was a breakdown.

Chris it was a miscommunication between Brent and Jamie Milam who had never played together before. They both went to cover Robinson and that left Beauleau wide open to get the pass. It happens.

I'm with you Blake on the analysis of the breakdown, but to put it completely on Henley it a little bit of a stretch. I've only been a die hard for the last year and a half so I continue to see more in each game, but IMHO Henley did exactly what we needed of him tonight. He brings a lot of value to this team to be able to play without looking over their shoulder.

I didn't say that, Chris, Brent did. Now he might have been taking the blame for someone else, as a team thing. I agree completely with your thoughts.

Well then, I guess I am even more glad that we got Henley... If he is willing to take the blame for something that was a defensive pairing breakdown, then he is another leader on this team that only adds more value.

I will apologize for the unfortunate choice of words. I know you don't drink. I meant you were drunk on yourself. Seriously, do you really believe Mightbite owns the rights to King Kong Henley? You're way too smart for that.

I read this blog because you (Blake) have more to give then Cohn, BUT no matter what someone says about the game or even that the Frankes took King Kong Henley from a blogger, i feel that its childish to belittle bloggers for posting their opinions! Henely may have said it was was his fault for the goal, BUT anyone watching the game knows it wasnt completely his fault.

I think Henely played great, better then what he showed the last time he was here. I told the Wifey that he would be her next fav. player! Dont harass me Blake since that was an opinion that i stated. But after the game she looked at me and said Henley is my Fav. player.

Also Bennefield does not impress me, he has not shown me at all why we picked him up. I understand its the second game, but he hasnt shown me anything.

Leo played great, Love how SNUFF thinks he shouldnt be on the team but he must not have watch the game tonight. Or he was to busy yelling at Chaulk.

Bouch played great, really he couldnt do much on those goals! He stepped it up even more in the shoot out.

I think APod ( btw i give props to the blogger who named him that!!!!) will be like Shafronov and play here for a long time ( meaning 5 years or more)

How come Lil' Wayne videos pop up after the K's shoot-out? Regardless, I like it.

I was at both games and there was a big difference from last night to opening night. Having Henley was huge. He played well as did most of team. But I gotta agree with Scooter on Bennefield. I think I watch the new guys more than the holdovers and it seems to me Bennefield looks lost. He's a good skater but just seems to be doing that:skating. I think he had a couple of assists I think but I guess I was expecting him to be the guy in front of the net kind of player. Maybe it will take him a little time to get used to the systems. I don't know. But so far he doesn't impress me. Leo played well. Did a lot of banging. And Schrocky. What can you say? He was friggin all over the ice. Having Henley around lets him worry about playing hockey and not having to police the ice. And Rizk played well. A couple of times it seemed he had an open shot but was a little tentative to take it. He deserves to be here so he shouldn't be afraid to take the shot. Not a bad crowd of 7400 and once the Komets scored their first goal you could feel the tension lift from the players and fans.
Nice ceremony for Guy. Wanted to get his autograph but line was long.
All in all it was a good game. They will need to keep showing improvement like they did last night. Rapid City next Friday. Komets will need to bring it again and play well. Go Komets!

Everyone wants to pile on Leo.. Where are the two scoring studs we signed in the offseason? Milam and Bennefield aren't living up to the hype at all.

Smith on the other hand, is awesome!

Frankie is stinking the joint up with his defensive play.

Apod played pretty well.

Boucher needs a backup to push him.

I thought Leo played his fanny off last night. I think Milam will be great on the power play once he and Frankie or whomever he is teamed up with get comfortable so he can set up his shot.

I also thought Rizk made a big difference with his forechecking. He was the one guy I noticed early doing that and he kept it up all game.

I just thought there were too many times we were caught not paying attention.too many odd man rushes for evensville.some bad timing on line changes led to breakaways or good scoring chances but this is only game 2. Schrocky , Auger and Smith i thought played great games. I think Auger is better as a forward , hoping he stays there.

I think he will, KF, especially with Starenky coming off IR and if they can get Lovell's imigration papers in.
