Farm patch

Will this make you want to run right out and change your insurance over to Farm Bureau?

The Indianapolis Colts will adopt the NFL's hottest fashion trend when the team conducts the opening workout of its 2009 training camp in Terre Haute on Aug. 3. The Colts have finalized an agreement to wear an Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance patch on the left shoulder of their practice jerseys.

"It's kind of a timely thing this year because they're celebrating their 75th anniversary," said Tom Zupancic, Colts senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Didn't think so. With the economy in the shape it's in and companies struggling to make a profit, isn't this sort of branding a little extravagant? How many people are really going to see the patches on those practice jerseys in the first place? Someone in the Colts'

Got a funnt feeling that in years to come, AFootball jerseys will be adorned much like the unifiorms of NASCAR drivers...

"We're gonna need a BIGGER tight end to fit ALL those sponsor patches, Bill!"
