Tailing the Komets

Frenchy update

X-ray results were negative and it's just a bruise. He'll miss Wednesday's game at Rockford but the Komets think there's a possibility St. Pierre might play next weekend.

"We dodged a bullet,'' Komets General Manager David Franke said. "He told me last night when he was shaving that he didn't think it was broken because it didn't hurt as bad as when he broke the other one.''

Because the Komets are not planning on putting St. Pierre on injured reserve, Joe Franke will be Kevin Kurk's emergency back-up goaltender Wednesday in Rockford. The Komets play four games in five nights and would like St. Pierre to play in at least one of them.

"I'm happy it's not broken,'' St. Pierre said. "It's only going to be a matter of days, not weeks. I could play if I had to, like if it was a playoff situation, but right now there's no reason to risk it.''

Don't know if you all noticed; but Josh Vanderbreggen signed with Columbia of the ECHL....so I guess we can unfortunatly put that one to rest....He was fun to watch...oh well

Is it me or does Frenchy get hurt or really sick EVERY YEAR?! The act is getting a bit much. He is the only guy to know 100% but he seems to get hurt quit a bit. I thought it was funny when he had "vertigo" but I saw him driving.

Note to Frenchy, This is the playoffs when we play games against Quad City, Kalamazoo, and Rockford. I think you better suck it up and "risk it." We have to gain ground on these teams after a very poor start.
