My point is that...Frenchy is a year older...has been injury prone since we have had him...and he scares me for the whole season. I am having visions of Pokey Reddick. I am not saying goalie by committee either...maybe let the back-up at least get 1 out of the 3 weekend games to stay in shape and fresh just in case.

I agree Hit...I made the same point when people were calling for signing Robinson, another injury prone goalie. Of course we dont know if he is coming back at this point. I for one cant wait til they start signing some players...
Thats what im saying Hit, let the other guy play more..than just 1 out of every 10 games..he should get 1 of the 3..if they play a 3 in 3 nights or he should get a game if they are playing 4 in 5 nights type of deal...

Mark, that would make sense to me...especially a 4 game in 5-6 nights type of week. I could make an exception if one of the goalies really plays well against a particular team, or if the guy is in the midst of a lengthy win streak, etc. But, I would like to have two goalies that can share the work load.

A good ratio of starting/backup games played is normally 7 out of 10 to the starter. More than that and the starter wears down and the backup gets rusty. Less than that means you don't have a true #1
The last succesful starter/backup that played anything close to 50-50 might have been Roy and Hayward for the Canadians or Fuhr/Moog for the Oilers.
Both of these situations happened in the 80's. I can't think of too many situations like that since.

Domber and Dupuis. I would at least invite Domber to camp to see if his performance last year was lightning in a bottle or if he can keep that up for an extended period of time.
Truthfully though, it would not hurt me if they brought NOBODY back. Let this coach put his own stamp on this team. I would rather he bring in guys that he trusts and that trust him.
OK....so another question...of the players that the K's drafted in the dispersal draft, who do you think would fit Binghams style....

Honestly, most of them. I think Duhart will enjoy playing for him. Drew Omicioli and Watters should fit in nicely.
I don't think Coach Bingham is too hard a guy to play for. He is going to demand a hard working physical brand of hockey. If a player has the skill and is willing to work hard I think he will have no problem playing for this coach.

Guys I want on this team right away....Miller, Goodwin, Guy, Omicioli, Hansen, Duhart, Venedam, Massie, Ortmeyer, JC Ruid, for starters. Those are guys right off I'd like to watch. I am excited though about the new young talent that Mr. Bingham has up his sleeve. Can't wait to see multiple signings over the next several weeks.
I think you have 8 vets there Hit; but I do like the names...
Lets just put them in uniforms with names like Jones, Smith, Johnson, etc. No one will notice. Hell, lets sign Yzerman too. I am with you though, JR, I can't wait to see the signing start. I want to see what we will have for next year. Once we see a roster...we should get a good idea of what type of team to expect.
