Tailing the Komets

On Frenchy/vacation

He said nothing was decided today and he's supposed to meet with the Frankes again on Wednesday. There's some obvious thawing going on, and as he said, ``We're still talking.'' It could go either way.

All right, now I'm officially on vacation, but I'll be checking in. Hit, Skate, Tony, JM, JR, Mark and Chuckitt. You guys are in charge with help from Bob and Greg. Make sure things maintain the proper standard. I was going to say you guys were in control, but we all know that's not true. If you guys don't keep things semi-calm, I'll call in reinforcements from Ashley and Shutterbug, and none of you want that to happen, right Tony?

Oh Lord, what am I doing, giving Hit Somebody and Jungle Monkey any kind of power? Shows how desperate I am for a vacation.

Have fun. I plan on it.

I would like to know what ILH was doing when the guys stood up with the "Duhart Sucks" shirts on?

Wow. I bought season tickets for the first time and if I am not mistaken they are in 231. I think I will be calling the Komets and getting them moved.
Lets be mad because Jim Duhart is in town, get drunk and act like the guy like the guy burned the American Flag in front of your house. I am not going to drive 6 hours round trip to sit around that! I KNOW Komets fans have more class than that.
Jim Duhart isn't an angel and hockey isn't church!! You want entertainment and Jim Duhart will give you that + he is going to score 20-30 goals a year! Gheesh when Chris Chelios became a Red Wing there were freaking people protesting outside Joe Louis! Now the guy is 106 years old and people don't want him to retire!!
GRRRR sorry for the rant but this struck a nerve. I think sometimes we as fans forget that these players are still human beings. There have been a few things said on here over the last week about certain guys that stepped out of what they did on the ice and became kind of personal. Whether you think they should read the boards or not, they do. And they will tell other players who are thining of coming here what is being said about them. That isn't going to help recruiting of talent. And what makes it worse is there are what, 20 regular posters here? Players can't talk to the other thousands of fans before coming here. All they can do is read what our small group is saying. Lets not turn this place into an ITB trash dump.
Off my soapbox.....exit stage left.

I don't mind fun. I heckle with the best of them. I just don't want to sit around people who are going to boo the home team for no good reason. Thankfully I found my receipt and I am in 208 but I will be glad to stop by 200 if things get boring lol.
The Komets need Jim Duhart more than Jim Duhart needs the Komets right now. He will bring that combination of entertainment value and skill. Each time he takes a shift on the ice all eyes will be on him to see what he does next. Will he score? Will he trip someone when the ref isn't looking (like they see anything anyway lol) Will he yap a player into slashing him and do a soccer swan dive to give the Komets a powerplay? Will he blow kisses towards the opposing bench?
Jim Duhart is FUN and good for hockey and GOOD for the 7000 butts in the seats on a Saturday night!

why only 7000 fans?.....with a new era of "thunder and lightening" beginning, why
not SOLD OUT AND STANDING ROOM ONLY?

NEW ERA...new players...keep an open mind and EMBRACE the TEAM....and that includes Duhart...Komet fans wanted a new look, you've got it, now go with the flow...

Lol you guys are just sucking up because you want Tim Hortons ;-)
If you guys want to arrange a tailgate party for opening night I will bring 200 of the best donut holes you will have ever had. And I will go over to Windsor to get them because they taste better than the Tim Hortons in the states.

ILH-I also would like to know where you were when the group stood up with the Duhart sucks shirts? Oh and the season before when they wore the Flint sucks and Duhart swallows shirts also-what were you doing then? Cheering them on right? Duhart is the kind of player you love to hate-when he is on the opposing team-but hopefully we will have him on our team-and you just see-people will love him. I hated him too but I kinda gained a little respect for him when Chad Grills was knocked unconcious back when he played for it, and I believe it was Duhart(from the other team)smacking the glass and telling the video camera jerks to turn them off-and then when they didn't-it was him who stood in the way of them. If he did do what you say-no I don't agree with that but its time to get over it. I bet that family has. Anyways-Go Komets.

Look, awhile back I said most players did not pay attention to the crowd or need them to play well. JD I believe is one of the exceptions. He loves to be the "evil" player when he goes into opposing buildings but he also loves to feed off the energy of the home crowd. 7000+ fans might be the biggest steady home crowd he has ever played in front of. If you give him support I believe he will play like he is 25 again. If he is mistreated by his own fans he is going to shut it down, get himself traded out of town and then you can go back to blaming him. Then what have you really done besides run an entertaining 30 goal scorer out of town?

Tim Hortons sounds good to me. They're in Columbus, but I don't know how they rate to the ones in Canada.

I would also love to see what Duhart does in a Komet uniform, IF he is signed. We don't know what they Frankes and Bingham are looking at right now.

How about this, alomst one o'clock and still no word on Franchy.

ilovehockey, arent you in that one post demonstrating some of the same characteristics that you are damning Duhart for????? Do you pretend to know all the circumstances that led up to that encounter. I dont think there is one person who reads this blog who at one time or another has said or done something they regret. I dont like Duhart; but if he comes in here(if signed) and helps this team reach its goals, then I will cheer him on. This does not mean that he has to be my favorite player.

wanna hear some interesting stuff? go to www.newstimes.com and look for the link about Galante. after you click on it, look to the left side of the screen and it has a part where you can listen to taped phone calls from a Galante associate to Richard Brosal and galante to his associate...it was on itb but they took it off...i don tknow how to do the link thing sorry

JR is 100% correct (lol see now if we can be in 100% agreement the Komet fans can learn to like Duhart)

He is a human being. Maybe that was the game the drunk idiot next to me spent the entire game calling him a child molestor and other vile things. For the record I complained twice to staff and they would not remove him!
Should Duhart have flipped off someone? No but if you spent 2 hours listening to someone shouting things like that at you and you probably wouldn't be in much of a mood to be nice either.
I applaud fans here who are at least willing to welcome JD and give him an honest chance. I think that is all we as people would want for ourselves if we were coming into a new situation.

It looks like a lot of posts are now missing from several people including yours, Tony. Must have been from the technical difficulties. Maybe the blog is powered by the same software that the Indiana BMV installed that doesn't work! LOL!

Tony E

Actually I think ILH decided we didn't deserve a blog because we didn't hang Duhart from a tree in J.A. Park.

Bob
Wed, 07/12/2006 - 7:19pm

The posts that ILH are some of the ones that are missing....isn't that kind of odd? LOL! Actually, I think ILH would have preferred seeing Duhart hanging from the rafters of the MC!

Hit Somebody!!!
Wed, 07/12/2006 - 7:20pm

ILH is a joke....I may be wrong...but I think she is the same person that has a daughter that her and her friend dress like skanks and try to hit on the players that aren't dressed that sit in the stands. If this is the same person I think...she needs to worry about that and not the entertainment value of one Jim Duhart.

We will be glad to have you Tony in our section...you will probably be sitting right next to ol' Hit Somebody. Our section is the best....bar none. Welcome to our section...you will love it. Email me your row and seat numbers.....

Tony, If you and Ashley like...the wife and I would like to have you join us for dinner either before or after a game sometime. We're in Section 206 Row 18 on the aisle. Hit, the same for you too! I really hope that we have a more entertaining team ON the ice that we don't have to watch the Jerry Springer guests that are in certain sections of the MC....but I'm sure that every building in UHL has them!
