I think we need to update the superhero canon to reflect modern sensibilities.
She came from another planet to save us from our dull, predictable conformity. Disguised as a mild-mannered social activist named Stefani Germanotta, she blends all but unnoticed into the artistic scene by taking tired liberal positions on all the predictable issues, including lecturing the military she would never be caught dead in on how to handle its troops. 
Then, just when she's got us fooled into taking her seriously, she quietly slips into a dark corner and dons her meat dress to attend the VMA 201 awards show in honor of all the great art coming out of the music world today. Take that, PETA!
