In their pre-game the Rush announcer listed Warner in the line up. He's not on the roster on Point Streak. A mistake by the Rush people?

What I don't get is why isn't ratchuk on the powerlessplay? My opinion is that sims loyalty to these vets sometimes makes zero sense. Rat makes plays and creates plays....pc is not the answer

Ks look lost in two areas: retaliation penalties and three times their defense allowed RC forwards to get behind them for easy goals. Twice it was Dupuis and Cescon on pps. Komets are playing cautious and are reacting instead of dictating the play. Not sure Nick had any chance on any of the goals. Just basic, easy defensive breakdowns. Dumb plays.

Hey, I have an idea, let's allow the Rush to stand right in front of our net uncontested. Not an expert but isn't that pretty basic hockey to clear out the front of the net?

Second goal was a soft goal that Nick let in, imo. K's looked lost in the first, but that also could have been the Rush making that look that way.

So when Rat is on the ice during PPs, shorthanded goals will happen? Cant say I agree with your inference on that one. Sounds like Sims isnt the only one overly loyal to the vets.

Ratchuk is an ahl player not dupuis or drouin.....he will carry the puck into the zone.....sims doesn't like higher level players we have noticed that this year haven't we? By the way GM I'm havin my own wrigley atmosphere at my house at least the drinks are good the game isnt

Agree Blake, and they aren't crashing the net either, several times a player looks there to make a pass and no one there.
And you can't take penalties the way they have, Rapid City is too good on the PP.
I love their fans, they look like us..... and the Icy type digs against the Komets on the big screen, great..
The video seems a touch laggey at times and I'm tired of the constantly changing cameras, they keep missing the play switching around, especially when they go closeup.
If they make the needed adjustments with two periods left they might still come back and win but it's going to be tough...

Not sure what Nick was could have done on the second goal. Does he concentrate on the shooter or the guy standing 10 feet away with no defensemen within 20 feet? That's a tough spot.
Love Ratchuk's skills, but he has to remember he's a defenseman not a foward in this lineup. He gives up a lot of odd-man rushes.

By the same logic kometsfan, PC is an NHL player. He's not there and Rat isn't in the AHL, they're both in the CHL so they're CHL players, and they're in this league for a reason. If their skills were at the level of those leagues they would be in those leagues.

Ks have taken the trap off and are being much more aggressive with their forecheck and hitting. Has RC back on its heels a bit. Getting through the neutral zone a little easier.

Looked better, but again, there have been five penalties on forwards on the wrong half of the ice. That last penalty on PC really killed their momentum.

This ref is brutal period he missed a couple of boardings or the old check from behind and a high stick Schrock took. I think the calls he has made have been very soft..

You know, Blake, with the results they got late in the season and in the first round by ditching the NZ trap, I'm wondering why on Earth they went back to it to star this series. They proved playing cautious doesn't work for them.
Why wouldn't you go balls to the wall and try to steal one and set the tone on a team that whipped your tail in both meetings this season? Perplexing.
The trap works when your team has the speed advantage, which I thought was clearly not the case in this instance. A skilled, fast opponent can use its speed and passing to beat the trap. Then again, I'm no hockey genius. I just figured that would've been learned in the other meetings.

Keep this pace up, watch the penalties, and they might pull off a win tomorrow night if they don't make it tonight.

Kometsfan did you notice who got caught up ice on that goal? He's got some wonderful tools, maybe the best on the entire team. When he learns how and when to use them, he's going to be amazing.
