Tailing the Komets

This is going to take a comeback of epic proportions

Port Huron is playing great, out-hitting, out-skating and out-smarting the Komets who have no physical play, no forecheck, no passing, no traffic in front, nothing. The poor ice continues to be a problem, but the IceHawks are just playing smarter. They pushed it to 3-1off a two-on-one when Konstantin Shafranov and Kevin Hansen ran into each other. Just awful. IceHawks lead the shots 16-15 after two.

There's about six guys I'd bench right now. All of a sudden Port Huron has gained two strides in speed it didn't have the entire season.

That was the most pitiful performance I have seen in a long time. Were the guys out late last night?

It's one thing to skate your heart out and get dominated... this was just plain fundamentals.

Connect passes. Break out of your zone. Skate harder. Period. The K's got beat to the puck nearly every time.

...and for the love of God, stop swatting at the puck with your stick when it is ten feet above your head!

Was it a bad game or was it Port Huron's play? I vote Port Huron's play period. Stan Druila is a mastermind in defensive play. His team's do not blow leads...We get our butts handed to us tonight and nobody, and I mean nobody tries to send a message for game 2. Our PP has been out coached since the Muskegon series we have mad no adjustments period...

IceHawks were great. Komets were terrible.

Nobody has tried to send a message in hockey for 10 years. Not a criticsm, Toe, just an observation. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Anybody wearing orange you guys thought played well tonight?

That was a tough game to watch tonight. I thought Hodgeman played a pretty good game tonight blake. Hopefully we get it done tomorrow and get back to playing the type of hockey that we have all grown accustomed to.

On a side note it was great meeting some really nice Port Huron fans in upper 215 tonight who were sitting in front of me. I look forward to talking to them again on Wednesday.

LETS GO KOMETS!

Here is my spin. The Komets are a much older team. Hence, even a couple of years can play hell on your timing and so forth. PH came out and pressed the Komets. The sharpness was just not there.

It is not time to panic or get yelling at everyone. They will play much better in the next game. However, I think PH is going to try beating them up on their home ice. Little cheap things that piss off a player. The Komets will need to keep their cool and play their game.

When you use speed and the timing goes away it looks like crap from rinkside to the pressbox. What the Komets need is flush this game down and look to PH.
