There's something to be said when the goalie of the year this season will be riding the pine in the playoffs. We have depth at every position this season. What a luxury! Congrats!

Lets have some fun! I have a quick question for all of you.

Now that Justin Hodgman has been added to the Komet roster, which set of forwards would you choose as being better going in to the playoffs, the 2009 team or 2010 team?

Remember, that when choosing one or the other that the 2009 team did not have Dominic Osmond ( traded to Kalamazoo for Ron Aldoff). It did include Mat Curadeau, Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn, Konstatin Shafranov, and Rick Varone. It did not include P.C. Drouin (broken arm).

Obviously this years club includes Syro, Chewy, Schrock, and Drouin.

Chaulk, Hukalo, Thomas, O'Connor, and Mac are on both rosters.

There is no right or wrong on this. I'm just interested in what you all think. I will tell you my view now. I like this years collection of forwards better ( although it took me a long time to make up my mind because group vs. group, they are so close in skill, speed , experience, and goal scoring.

I also had to keep in mind that the 2009 group won a Turner Cup Championship, too.

What do you guys and gals think?

Alan--I'll take the bait. I like this years team. I say that because when they play like a "Team" pay the price they can control both zones. If they play that way (and that is a big if) this team can and will beat everyone. I do not not in anyway mean to diminish the Championship Teams. The 2008 team has a very special place in my heart.

If I get last year's Rick Varone over the imitator we saw this year, I'm going with last year's. Last year I felt like I knew what to expect each night and did not have to worry about who was playing at what percent and which team was going to show up. Also, I always liked Curadeau so I guess I'm throwing some personal bias in there. Don't get me wrong, when this year's team actually plays like we all know they can/should, they are a blast to watch. However, I can't tell you how many times I've left games this season feeling like I did not even get to watch a hockey game. So, feel free to bash away, but you said it's personal preference, and that is mine. If you really want to go nuts, I'd take the team from two years ago over the one last year. HUGE Morrency fan, plus there was a lot of emergence of young talent that were previously "unheard of's" that really shined. Sorry, I did not mean to turn this into a "best team ever" debate ;) Good question though, Alan.

Both are great teams, as was 3 years ago, which I think might be the best of the 3 overall. Everyone was younger too. LOL

Larry has to feel like an arse right about now. Every time his yap comes open, he has to eat his words. I think he is the "A" player that has gotten lucky to be in this league. What a punk.

Haun is the man. If he is healthy, he goes at home, and Bouch on the road. Awesome duo.

I don't think you are gonna see much of Haun in the playoffs. He's been off for almost 3 weeks, and you cant gamble the playoffs on a guy that hasn't played in so long.....and he hasn't proven ANYTHING in the playoffs yet. I can't see how you sit a 2 time champion....JMO

On the otherhand, Bouch hasn't had a break in 3 weeks, and his frustration level goes up more each game he plays as he is seen firing pucks at teammates and firing verbal missiles at them game after game.

My opinion, they both need to play if they are both healthy. That is what has gotten us here, and if Haun isn't healthy, obviously none of this discussion matters.

Anyone wonder if maybe Tim could go right now, and they have decided to rest him a little longer getting him ready for the Playoff run? If he plays the 2 home games this weekend, I think we will have our answer.

I'd have to go with 2 years ago

Chaulk, P.C, Shaf, Hodgy, Aquino, Curedeau, Hukalo, Woods, Marchant

Although right now, this team is pretty stacked...Id love to see a Syro, Schrock, Hodgman line....Or just Schrock and Hodgy on the ice at the same time blurring past defenders

I'd love OC, Hodgy, Schrock.....who could beat that line?

Sorry, I just dont see how you split up O'connor, drouin and Thomas... They have some great chemistry right now...

Just for fun.....I'd hate to mess with the LT,PC,OC Line....but if they did mess with it....here is what you do:

Chaulk, Syro, Chewy
Leo, PC, Huk
Hodgy, OC, Schrocky

Leave the line together:

Leo, PC, OC
Chaulk, Syro, Huk
Hodgy, Schrock, Chewy

I don't know guys???

I agree JR.

I just don't know how you manimize Hodgman is all? Hate to waste him on a third line, but I'd hate to lessen him too.

I guess he goes on the topline with Chaulk and Syro.

Although, he could go with Schrock and you might find yourself with 3 lines that can score at will.

Hit Somebody.....Are you on the ice? How do you hear what is specifically being said on the ice by any of the players? You CAN'T and thus you are purely speculating. And I havent seen any pucks shot at teammates this season or any season for that matter. You are always criticizing Nick and shining Haun.....Why don't you just lay off the guy....he's one 2 cups for this team, the forst of which we would not have won but for him. You also seem to have an "in" with the team with all the stuff you say about frustration levels of players.....Speculation, again.

I love Nick too but Hit is correct about Bouch. The other right he skated off without even saying boo to his team mates. I just put him in the goalie category. They are all a bit weird although Larry takes the cake in the mental illness department. And BTW, I can from my seat in 220 hear what is being said on the ice.

Without a doubt three years ago. Hansen and Henley; Guy and Bert; Durdin and Warner or Pence; they came back from 3-1 down to beat a very, very good team; Warner and Pence were the extra guys who came on and played great; Guys like Marchant and Reynolds added to the offensive AND defensive balance. They were tough and disciplined but they had more all-around talent that could do it all. Two fantastic goaltenders. Remember the way they completely out-shot and out-chances PH during the overtimes?

Congrats to Haun. Some mysterious person at the begining of this season predicted great things from him. Even though I cracked him hard for losing his cool.
On another note..plain and simple, John Anderson GOT SCREWED!

The game where we were up big and gave up goals at the end of the game, I think againt Dayton??? Right? That is when he bolted for the locker-room. He and Chewy got into a screaming match right in front of me on the ice. Boucher clearly had words for Warner after a goal where Warner turned over the puck, Warner had his head down, and Bouch shot the puck at him from behind and nearly beaned him in the head.

Raise your hands if you saw this stuff too at that game....

I have nothing against Bouch. He is a stud. But he is a Goalie, and he has screw loose at times....IE: Near Nakedness Skating around the MC ice 3 years ago while Disney on Ice was Rehearsing....OK?

Bouch is great.
Haun has been great this year too.

I don't prefer one to the other. Both give us a great chance to win, and both should be utilized at the strengths...Haun has been freakingg incredible at home, and Bouch has been freaking incredible on the road.

Greg.....give me a break.

Even LGKomets is coming to my defense, I all most passed out by the way.

I'd like to give a shout-out to Frozen Water.....He is like Ice....Ice......Baby!!!!

I said both are great and should play....you, however, said no way Haun should play.

What gives?
