"Have Gun -- Will Travel" was one of the best of the early TV shows, starrring Richard Boone as Paladin, one of the great existential characters of all time. I don't know if this is more sad or silly, but:

Detroit rapper Eminem will return to the big screen in a remake of the classic television series Have Gun - Will Travel.

[. . .]

Although the rapper will be cast as a bounty hunter, it's unlikely the character will mirror Boone's Paladin, a brandy-sipping, Shakespeare-quoting chess player.

Leo:
It's damn good thing that Richard Boone (a MAINSTAY in our humble B&W tv abode during the 50s) is no longer alive to see THAT story....it would KILL him.
But I will wager he's turning in his grave HOURLY.
Not to mention that Hec Ramsay was a pretty good show in it's own right (and the forerunner to ALL of the CSI shows we have NOW)!

While we're at it...remember such other shows such as:
M-Squad
Highway Patrol
The Virginian
The Restless Gun
Cheyenne
...And everyonme's favorite:
The Lone Ranger

AH yes....life was WAY better when we had ONLY M&Ms and NOT "eminem"
(the boy can't sing...so how can he even think about acting???)
Maybe "his" Paladin will carry EPITHETS and quote Notorious B.I.G. instead...(shudders at that visual)

;)

Now that I see your list, I realize one of the good things about most of those shows . . . they starred ugly men -- Lee Marvin, Broderick Crawford, Richard Boone. Probably the closest to a handsome man was Clint Walker in Cheyenne. We have no role models left!

Leo, they've been replaced by the guys from "Broke Back Mountain".

Ain't that a revoltin' development.
