Tailing the Komets

Here's one for you

Would you prefer if the Komets played the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, or keep the game on Thanksgiving night?

I like having the game to look forward to after a nice family dinner. If it were on Wednesday, the game might cut into some of the prep done the night before.

50th consecutive Thanksgiving Day game = TRADITION. Attendance was 7289 last year which is better than the average Sunday or Wednesday attendance. Also, first time Cescon will be facing his former teammates.

Speaking as an out-of-towner, knowing that traveling multiple hours to Fort Wayne for Thanksgiving will occur after work on Wednesday, keeping the game on Thursday night works not only because we're able to make the opening faceoff, but it's also motivation to not overeat too much so we can stay awake throughout the game instead of falling into a tryptophan coma.

This is one area where the NHL has it correct....

0 games on Thanksgiving...

The AHL and ECHL both have only one game scheduled and the CHL 2 games...

Corporate America has taken over yet another holiday and made this time more about black Friday than Thanksgiving. I would rather see the K's give their guys the holiday off and let them spend time with their families. They could even wrap a charity benefit around the players who dont have family in town and dont want to travel (and if they agreed) by letting fans do a silent bidding for the opportunity to host a Komets player at their Thanksgiving celebration with all procedes of the bidding going to the local soup kitchen for those who cant afford a Thanksgiving dinner....

Just a thought...

It's all about tradition, if it's not broke, don't fix it. Some families plan thier holiday around going to the Komets game that night.

Wednedsy is a travel day for lots of people--plus you wouldn't have a Thanksgiving Dinner if all the wives and mothers came to the game on Wednesday night--since that's when the baking and cooking take place. Only a turkey would suggest this, just
to save it's own neck!! LOL

Great response Krackers, I agree. My wife would have to miss the game, not particularly a good thing.

They aren't thinking about changing it, I just wondered what you thought.
