Tailing the Komets

Here's a stat for you

In Kevin Reiter's two wins, the Komets have scored 11 goals. In the other 11 games, including a pair of relief appearances, they have scored 21 goals. That's ridiculous. They have scored fewer than three goals in nine of his games.

Grip It, what the heck are you talking about? It wasn't me who said the team was probably bothered by the Chaulk hype, I was saying the opposite which should be obvious in the part of my statement you quoted in yours. Go back and re-read the post I was responding too, Alan (who was not saying anything negative about Chaulk) was commenting on the pregame video and how if he were a player he'd feel insulted.

So you're "friends" with eight players, what the heck does that have to do with anything? Are you saying they told you they were insulted by the video? If so say so, but why attack me?

And calling me a liar? Major blog foul. Sit in the box for 10 minutes and feel shame, then do a two topic suspension.

You might also want to consider changing your screen name to "Get a Grip".

Grip It, I just realized I may have misunderstood the section of your post accusing me of lying. I see now that with some proper punctuation you could be challenging me to call you a liar, something I haven't and won't do. If you are calling me a liar then I feel an apology is due, if not I can't take responsibility for your lack of punctuation causing my misinterpretation of your remarks.

Fletcher, Chewy, and Cal Purinton... LOL Anyways, back to last night's game. Bus trip was awesome, my very first road game! Didn't even need the bail money... even though I wanted to stick one Dayton fan's air horn someplace where he'd have a real hard time using it.
Now that you mention it Hit, I don't remember seeing aPod out there in the third either. Boucher made some awesome saves, kept them in the game for sure.
I promise to never ever complain about the restrooms at the MC again after being at Hara... yikes.

FMM- Thats was my 5th time in Dayton for an away game, and have never had any problems with fans except for this time. Also i have never seen so many people their either. I didnt ride the bus, but it was nice to see all the Komet fans their, it made it feel like an old K-Zoo game. We had acouple Dayton fans above us wanting to take us outside and fight us. For what i have no idea. They had a Dayton fan that sat behind Bouch, and would yell Bouch you suck consistently even though he was making amazing saves to keep us in the game. Its weird to have to dress like your going to be outside watching a hockey game when you go to Dayton cuz they have no heat in their arena.

Klempa was good here.

He is let go.

And he turns into a stud.

That part bothers me.

The other part that bothers me.....

Another young player we decided not to develop and be patient with and allow to shine.....instead, we stuck to the normal plan of retreads.

Maybe I am crazy....

But with the rumors of Chewy, Mac, and Shaf all possibly in K's uniforms.....this is typical is it not?

JM is cool....I have to agree.

I saw him riding shot-gun in the BW-mobile the other day.

You da man.....Robin.

Doesn't bother me but I'm not that familiar with his recent history. Last season he left the K's and the IHL where he didn't do squat (was he injured?) and went to the ECHL where he played in only 6 games but got 3 points so it could be argued he might have done better there. Then he finished last season and so far this season in the CHL where he's a scoring machine.

He was also a scoring machine in the NAHL, USHL, very respectable in college but not too good in his first stint in the ECHL (2 As in 9 games) prior to going to the IHL. He might have been a bit slow developing in the pro ranks which would explain his poor performance in his first stint in the ECHL and while he was here or maybe the CHL is a better fit for him then the IHL and ECHL were?

Would I like to see him here now? You betcha.

My point is:

Why can't we ever develop these young guys here?

I'm also curious why Johnstown cut him after the 6 games. For whatever reason he ended up in Wichita for the rest of the season and did very well, but isn't with them again this season.

I agree Hit but the fans here care more about winning then developing players.

Klempa was all out hustle but seemed to be out of position last year on the offense. I would like to have seen him stick around and develop but they didn't have the patience with him that they have with some others.
You never know. May have been an issue in the room with him. Maybe he asked to be let go....could be many reasons.

Glad to see the attendance up in Dayton last night but it was Wright-Patterson AFB night and so that probably boosted it a bit. Maybe the hype about teaching the Komets a lesson contributed also, who knows. I hope it continues though.
