High and higher

Wow, now I really know the cost of gasoline has become a serious problem:

PORTAGE -- Gas prices seem to affect even drug dealers, according to Porter County Courthouse records.

A Hammond man now facing two counts of dealing cocaine was charging an extra $25 to deliver about 7 grams of the drug to Portage in June.

[. . .]

Court documents state that a confidential source for the Porter County Drug Task Force contacted Salinas for the June 18 delivery, and Salinas informed the source that with rising gas prices, he'd add the extra charge to the $215 he was charging for 7.2 grams of cocaine.

Never mind the silly little drug charges -- that man is guilty of gouging, and we all know that should be a capital offense.
