I never saw the slash, period. Who is he accused of slashing? I know Welker missed some penalties but what slash? This is not good!

Boneheaded move. Million dollar talent with no ability to keep himself in check. The leauge must have footage to issue a suspension. I didn't see it. Stan whined, sent tape.. and Hodgy is sitting.

The Komets were an excellent hockey team before the addition of Hodgman. This isn't the end of anything.

So Hodgy gets to sit while Hansen never recieved anything for his high elbow at the end of the season. Interesting.

Holy Crap! We're STILL taking penalties.......

Right at the end of the game Hodgy took two violent slashes at an Ice Hawk (not sure who) but they were like two handed tomahawk chops, one i saw to the back of the leg, and the other one got his stick. Just a dumb, selfish move. Did anyone see Sterling come racing out of his crease right after the horn before being grabbed by a teamate? Im guessing thats what he saw...

I am interested to read the follow up article that I'm assuming is forthcoming and that Blake is probably tracking down, since it seems unanimous that no one remembers or saw the infraction...... WOW

They were panning back out on B2; but I was wondering about that... Thanks Enoughalready....

This league is a joke on the suspensions.

I don't know that I'd say the Komets were an excellent team before Hodgman. Granted, he's done some pretty stupid stuff so far, but his talent doesn't really hurt the team. I think the city making him into a god for coming back and playing during the playoffs may lead to him believing it a little more than he should and thinking he can get away with some unnecessary stuff in this lower league. Is he rooming with Woods?

So the only guy that is putting up points on Larry is suspended for 2 games when 1 of them is in Port Huron and they need 2 wins to eliminate us. I hate to say it, but unless somebody steps up huge, this series is probably over in 5 and that frustrates me greatly:(

No one said Hodgman was a god, we have plenty of guys who can put the puck in the net-they just need to throw junk at Larry, and I say it's going 7 games.

To Tim Hoke. Tim it was a pleasure meeting you and speaking with you Sunday night. Our conversation lasted about twenty minutes and we sure covered a lot of Komets lore and other things didn't we? It's always good to meet new friends and please remember my advice to never let anything get in the way of good, trusted friends. ( I hope you get my meaning here.) Sometimes very good and responsible suggestions get tossed aside for lack of ambition and then some will start to play the "victim". Somehow, without really knowing for sure, I think that is happening. Don't let it. I trust my instincts and judgement.

After reading about the suspension, my question to the Komets is: who wants to be the hero? This suspension does put a new twist on things. I hope that the Komets come out in games 4 and 5 with an intensity that we haven't seen. Intensity, grit, tenacity, smart, solid hockey will win games.

On a happier note, I was told that today is Alan's birthday. From one blogger to another: Happy Birthday Alan!!!

The Komets got 2nd place above Port Huron without Hodgman. And they can still win games with hodgman.

Like Hoss said

Apparently I need to proof read before I hit submit...

I meant, we can still win games "without" Hodgman...

Definitely the right call. It happened right in front of me and the slashes were vicious. It was a punk move by Hodgman.

You are forgetting that we also had Shaf when we achieved 2nd place...Without Shaf, Hodgy and PC/Leo not scoring is a big hill to climb.

I Think that referee welker got what he wanted. The Komets shot out to a 2 goal lead, than he took over. He starts the penalty parade we need to kill all pp against us, get our pp working "kiss" style we need to park someone in front of Larrry and git the dirty work done. Someone should man up to take the slot and go for all the rebounds he leaves. Need to get the odd man rushes in our favor. Bouch needs Dmen to help out more, block some shots nuff said GO KOMETS we can do this. Remember we are the better team.

Can somebody explain why Hodgman got a 2 game suspension and Rick Smith of Muskegeon got only 1 game for the same infraction??

Blake Sebring
Tue, 04/27/2010 - 11:56am

Hodgman did it after the game was over, Lindberg's back was to him, it was not in retaliation for something that happened earlier, and there's also a belief Lindberg is injured and may miss tomorrow's game.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?

JungleMonkey

Lindberg "might" miss the game. He must have Lardneritis.. Tab missing the playoffs with a twisted ankle.. Those guys in PH need some Boniva.

Fort Wayne fans should be thankful that he only received two games. I guarantee you if this was the regular season he would have gotten more than two. That slash was 10 times worse than what Haun did to Patrosso and he got seven. So Komet fans should just pipe down and be thankful that he only got two. And as for the Stan whining comment, Drulia DID NOT send the tape to the IHL, all playoff games are reviewed in there entirety and Jones saw the slash. Now the only bad part is the Komets have an excuse when Port Huron finishes them off this weekend!!!

Ala n thank you very much! Great talk we had yes. A big 10-4 on your thoughts. And happy birthday Alan, pretty soon you catch up with me!! Prediction here.....if Komets lose Wed. it is lights out for us. Hard to win series more than once after being down 3-1 yes???

Drulia didn't say a word? LMAO! You need to check into that..

There was not penalty call. Welker was half way home when it happened.
