Hole-in-the-

Every city needs a theme song, don't you think? Fort Wayne's should be Vince Gill's modern country classic, "One More Last Chance," which contains the memorable refrain: "Give me one more last chance/Before you say we're through/I know I drive you crazy baby/It's the best I can do." We are talking, of course, about the Harrison Square project:

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry says he's more confident than ever a stalled downtown project will get built.

Henry said Monday that groundbreaking on the Harrison is planned for November 30 with completion expected in March 2013.

November? They going to break ground by then? Sounds like a Thanksgiving turkey to me.

Wouldn't it be nice if the government gave the same deal to us?

"Your tax bill was due in March, Mr. Morris, and here it is June."

"Well, things have been tight."

"And March was an extension from the November due date."

"It's the economy, you know."

"And We only let you slide from last March to November because you said you were having trouble getting backing."

"I'm still having that trouble. How about you give me until, oh, October? I absolutely, positively promise to have it by then."

"Oh, all right. But you'd better pay by then, and this time we really, really mean it."

I think you can take the lack of comments to indicate you said all that really needed to be said.
