I say you go sign a 40 goal man. Heavyweights are a dime a dozen, and usually can be had for less money, and tell me why you would wanna go spend a bunch of money to bring in a goalie when we already have a proven winning signed for a goalie. It's a waste to spend money there-spend it where it will help the most-offensively.

I know you said pick one, but I am gonna go based on the current needs. I think there is plenty of offense based on what we have signed.

Franke already said they are going for an enforcer and are talking with Nolan....so sign both! Yeah I am greedy LOL.

If its a true center thats a 40 goal scorer, then you go with him, IMO.... The K's need another center for the roster, only 2 true centers signed thhus far (Curadeau and Thomas).

The K's will be ok with guys like Pawlowski, Cescon, and Schrock in the toughness category with several other guys willing to jump in if need be.

Also the K's have always been able to find capable #2 goalies...

I probably made it too easy by saying 40-goal scorer. There's no way they can afford that with what they have left. Should have said a 20-30-goal scorer.

JR, their third-line center is pretty much always going to be a rookie (Gascon, Curadeau, Varone, Hodgman), and it could be Ward.

I vote goaltender....Boucher was way too injury-prone last year for my liking. Makes me nervous. And I'm always all for signing a good enforcer....preferably one who can also score a few goals along the way. Steve Fletcher knew how to find the back of the net, as I recall....

If the guy is 28-30 goal scorer. If only 20-22 I would go for solid goalie.

I think if they get someone that could score 20-30 goals and be good defensively (like Hukalo was) that would be a huge bonus...especially if the price is right. My apologies for the game show pun!

Otherwise, get someone that is able to play well enough to contribute with 10-20 goals (yes, be able to play) and be tough enough to be able to drop the gloves when needed. This player would likely be a rookie or a non veteran for salary considerations.

Nolan. As said above, this team is offensively loaded. On the other hand, if Bouch gets hurt, is off, or throws one of his tantrums early in the first period and is mentally done for the night, who are we going to fall on? Sims? Warner in the net? He played some goalie in college. Bouch is a great goalie, but he is prone to being a diva at certain points during the season.

Is Haun asking for too much or is there another factor involved in why we havent heard anything about him???

You would think the IHL's top goalie in the regular season would garner some chatter at least...

Blueline Baby

RK, then we can always give Bouch a Snickers bar....if he's being a diva, that is. Like the commercials. LOL...just kidding. I love the use of the word diva when it comes to athletes. It cracks me up for some reason.

JR, I've been wondering that exact thing....what's up with that? I like Haun.

Goalie.

Or...option X...25 goal 60 point D-man who will finish the season in the season in top 5 in +/-

Bob

Mr. Snufflupugus,

Those would be good options also. I would like to see who ends up getting the #2 goalie job (Nolan, Haun, ?) and the rest of the d-men.

Maybe the team will announce something later this week.

Blake Sebring
Sun, 07/25/2010 - 9:31pm

You're not going to be able to find that, either, for what they can afford Snuff. Somebody who can do that is $800-$1,000 a week at this level. That's why finding Frankie after the season started last year was so huge.

They said awhile ago they were not going to be bringing Tim Haun back, JR. I'm sure Tim wants and definitely deserves a substantial raise over last year.

JR

Thanks Blake, I must have missed that announcement about Haun...

Has the salary cap limit been announced? I got the impression from several posts that the amount was still up in the air, but now I keep reading about not being able to fit certain talent levels under it?

40 goal scorer! Its been proven year after year that middle weights are more fun and exciting to watch anyway.

All good discussion.

Name me a player that fits into the salary structure we are talking here.

I say Nolan would be great.

What about Bedard from PH.

Kris Vernarsky? Hate him....but is he that guy?

Jamie Schafsma?

Luciano Aquino?

Bryan Smolinski? Looks Lazy at times.

Mario Laroqcue?

There was pretty good player from K-Zoo, can't remember his name, dang-it, that might be a good fit.

Tab Lardner?

Where is Presten Mizzi? Crybaby, good player though.

I probably named guys out of the price range....???

what if we all chipped in a few greenies, could we sneak a few good players under the big CHL salarie cap?

Kiyaga meets none of the criteria.

*40 goal scorer?
*Tough guy?
*Goalie?
*Player who doesn't make me puke in my mouth.

In all fair-ness......I always thought Arthur was wasted when he was here, he should have been groomed as a forward as he could skate and would have loved to have seen him blow by others with the puck.

But no. He was forced to play D.

Oh well.

It's still being negotiated so you kind of have to use last year's number as a guideline.

What is Jaromir Jagr doing?

Or if the salary cap is lower than expected, Jaromir Legault?

I don't know. With the loss of both Chaulk and Hukalo, maybe a good defensive forward?
