Wasnt it Sherwood that the UHL had a league deal for equipment with some years back that was a complete disaster? If I remember right, they had all kinds of problems with the sticks they were getting... Can anyone whos memory is working today help me out??

Now I know the IHL is coming to an end as we know it or once knew it...

I see Reebok was one of the companies who made a presentation. If they become the official league jersey supplier, it's a good bet it will be goodbye waist stripes and hockey socks, hello vertical stripes and lycra leggings with the gaps in back (see Quad City's uniforms this year).

Just say NO!

Blake I don't know if you have ever done this but I do have a request or question...Have you ever been able to get the necessary data from the ECHL and IHL what the cost for a organization is to join, salary, work comp, dues etc..I know every time this debate comes up there is preception that one cost more than the other, but I have never seen any "data" to either prove it or not prove it. Everything is always assumed. I am not advacating one over the other but it would be interesting to really compare facts and not assumptions on anyones part. Over the years the K's organization has had numerous opprotunities to join the "ECHL" and never has why? Some believe it is because it is a "Union" league and there are always assumptions that the Frankes have a "bad" track record with the Players Union. Everyone talks about "business sense" but I have never seen any numbers to prove what makes good "business sense". Like I stated I am not trying to prove that the K's should be in the ECHL I just want to know if there is any information out there that provides actual data to compare them. Perhaps an ordinary person could request such data, I don't know, but it might be an interesting research project to use in a Sports Mgt class I am teaching. Thanks

So why are the league meetings in Vegas? If no teams have any money, then why would they all travel to Vegas. Why not have the meetings in Ft. Wayne or somewhere close for all the owners. Just a thought,

Shane, I haven't been able to pull those together for probably 10 years. The leagues are never going to release that info officially because they are private businesses. Part of the reason they dislike union leagues is at the end of the IHL, to retain a players' rights, you had to increase their salary 10 percent every year. I'd like to try that with my boss. I've been told an IHL team budget is between $1.5 and $3 million. Figure an average ticket revenue of $10 and go from there. One of the biggest expenses is workers comp.

I believe, OKC had troubles because they did not control the building. It will be very interesting to see if they can get the corporate support there that they need.

I figured you had tried over the years and yes I would love a 10% raise every year....I guess you could say it is really hard to debate those issues without hard facts and data. Perhaps I will give it a go or should I say put it into the "students" hands to see if we can get anywhere. Great topic to use though...
