IHL Officials camp

The International Hockey League will conduct training camp for referees and linesmen this Saturday and Sunday at the Onyx Ice Arena, home of the Rochester Rattlers travel hockey team, located in Rochester, Michigan.

The camp will be conducted by Brad Jones, IHL Vice President of Hockey Operations and Jerry Pateman, one of the IHL Supervisors of Officials.

“There will be discussion about adhering to the standard the IHL has worked hard at incorporating over the last two years,” stated Jones. “We will re-emphasize the rules and the heightened awareness towards the aggressive stick penalties that were discussed during the IHL's Annual Meeting.”

The officials will take part in two on-ice and two classroom sessions focusing on the IHL Rule Book and video clips from last season, clarifying areas that need to be addressed. They will also have an off-ice workout to help get ready for the upcoming season of the IHL.

We have a standard? Please excuse me while I dissolve into fits of laughter. Best of luck to them, in any case. They're going to need it.

This is the annual statement about officials training camp, with the same thing being said year after year..... (it was the same when they were in the UHL too)

No offense, but this guy that is writing for the Flint Paper is awful.....his facts are poor and not checked for accuracy, and where the heck is Findland? Does he not have spell check or a proof-reader? Wasn't Feldman the evil Newman on Jerry Seinfeld's bizarro world?

Here is something else that intrigued me besides the obvious things:

"The Generals have plenty of work to do in addition to signing players. South said the Generals' new web site should launch soon. It will feature live streaming audio during games and video interviews."

Does this mean they will have a radio telecast this season? Or are they just doing a webcast? Originally they said no Radio this season.

I hope it works there....but man it still stinks from that direction. And no Savage reporting there is actually hurting me this season so far. This Feldman is brutal.

Oh right.....this is an important training tool at the officials camp:

And this might be one this years new officials:

Sorry, that was funny.

I sure hope Hawthorn is not incharge! Can anyone imagine what that would turn into? Scares me!

I heard Burgee was going to be a guest speaker. He is doing a joint Powerpoint with his buddy Hawthorne.

I will assist the league however they would like, me and jimmie did our song and dance and received a standing ovation. Might be my last week to tan, hockey is around the corner. BAM24 is driving to Dayton for the opener and has plenty of room in his chevy ssr manmobile. $10 says he strikes out this weekend in slowpitch softball.

BAM24 is ready for hockey especially after leading off the opening game of the softball world series qualifier by striking out..."sun was in his eyes"...I want my $10 in one bill not 10,000 pennies! Hope the boys enjoy their case of frosty strikeout beverage. On another note, may get sun burnt today, Schebig used all my tanning lotion on vacation. Lost 28 pounds in preseason training. This season is shaping up nicely on paper, kzoo-komets north with all our former players.

Speaking of officials anyone remember former UHL referee George Harrison, well aparently his son went to the AAHL referee camp. Wouldnt mind seeing another Harrison in the Co/U/IHL i always liked the way george officiated.

I believe George Harrison was in the "Old" IHL if memory serves see correctly. Yes, he was a very good official. I do not remember him in the UHL. But, than there are a lot of things I don't remember like I would want to anymore. I shouldn't have said that! Someone will burn me big time. OH well!!:)
