Tailing the Komets

I'll bet Al's not too happy

The score is tied 1-1 after the first period, and truthfully, Muskegon doesn't look too enthused with this game. Players skating straight up, no hitting. Shots are 14-13 Komets, but they should have one or two more goals.

Brad MacMillan knocked out Muskegon's Robin Bouchard with a clean hit early in the first period. Bouchard had his head turned waiting for a pass when MacMill

Jim Hawthorne is creating disestablishmentarianism between the fans and the International Hockey League. He is causing the great citizens of Komet nation to use profanity in the presence of others. Poor Bruce Ramsey is gonna blow a brain vein two nights in a row because of this individul. Jim Hawthorne needs to understand that we do not buy our tickets to watch him, he fails to understand the concept that sports is entertainment and with him involved its not entertaining. Please do not assign him to anymore Fort Wayne games, we don't like him.

Respectfully submitted,

Douglas C. Neidermeyer

How many injuries have there been in the last two nights of Hawthorne officiated games? Coincidence, I think not.

Another W for the K's but Nick was not that sharp tonight and I know I am going to offend some with this comment but Pence is not one of our top 6 d-men the two penalties he took tonight were because he is not strong enough and has to haul guys down and the 3rd goal was a result of him not being able to play the puck. I know he has a very strong character and is a person of strong conviction, but I am puzzled as to why Boulay has been a healthy scratch the last 4 games are they trying to keep him under the limit? If they are I would do the same thing with Varone also.

Boulay has a bad hip. Took a shot in practice. Remember, Al originally said the plan was to play Jake at forward the rest of the way.

Toe, the third goal had nothing to do with Pence. I sit at the end and the shot actually rose over Boucher's shoulder as it was coming at him. Great call on the injury coincidence with Hawthorne reffing, Burgee!!

This is the first game all season that Varone has missed. Boulay has played in 69 of 73 games this season. Neither player will qualify as a rookie next season.

Great hit by Mac but I never like to see someone get hurt and get knocked out cold even if it is a player we don't like!! Hate to say this cause I love what the PA plays, but I was a bit dissapointed with the tunes that were played when Bouchard was out cold. Kinda tasteless.

Bouchard bad mouthed the very thing that provides his means and I'm glad it was a clean hit that knocked him out, he deserved it. IMHO Larry was not out of line and when I got my bell rung in the past, when I snapped out of it I was the first to make fun of it and was right back at it. Edited.

That statement is total baloney, Burgee. I've seen what concussions can do to players up close, and they are nothing to joke about or rip someone for. That's out of line. Robin Bawa's life has never been the same.

And the music was too much. One song, maybe, but three? C'mon, show some class.

Hey Burgee!!! What if it did end up being more serious??? You going to take that classless comment and say that to Bouchard's wife and kids???? Classy

I've had em, I accepted them and I also accepted the risk of physical sports. He 'walked' off the ice, once he started moving larry played the music, I had no problem with it. My kid plays 2 physical sports, before each game I remind him to keep his head up and always go 100%. He's had his bell rung before but goes right back out. He can quit at anytime if he is scared. Like I said IMHO. Its physical entertainment, don't like it or the risks, get out.

That was a scary moment. I thought it was nice that Boucher made the effort to stop Bouchard from sliding into the goal post after he went down.

As much as I don't like Bouchard, I don't want to see anyone get hurt like that. Do we know if he's okay? And BTW, I thought the music was a little distasteful and was kinda embarrassed by it.

I was in lower 222 when Bouchard went down and was very impressed with Boucher's actions, stopping him from going into the goal. Bouchard was pretty banged up and while I agree that you should go into a game like hockey knowing all of the risks involved, I also agree that one song from the PA would have been enough.
There is a huge difference when someone is taken down, gets up right away and is assisted off the ice. It's an entirely different situation in a case like Bouchards when they are seriously injured. Normally I'm a huge fan of what comes over the PA, but when this happened last night, I was not laughing.
