Tailing the Komets

I'm going to jail

On May 24, I'm going to jail at Parkview Field to help support the MDA Homerun Lock-up at Parkview Field. I'm asking for your help and donations to raise $1,600 bail money. But there's a catch. The top 10 people who donate the most money will get their names included in my next novel, or they'll be able to designate the name of someone else to be included as characters in the book. All  you have to do to donate is go to my MDA homepage here.

I'm going continue posting this until we reach the goal, and I apologize for that, but it's for a worthy cause. Thanks for considering donating.

You've got $100 from my family Blake. As many of you know, My nephew has MD. He's a huge Komet fan. This is a great cause and it means a lot to me and my family! Thanks Blake for doing this!!

Hit.. Just curious, you ever been on skates? Ever played the game of hockey?

Here we go again...

I hope none of you voted for President or in the primaries yesterday, because I know none of you have ever been President of the United States or Mayor of Fort Wayne, and probably have not served in any public offices.

In addition, I hope none of you have ever criticized a television show or movie, since you are not Hollywood film directors, actors, or actresses.

Also, I'm tired of all of you on here who have never written a book constantly telling Blake how good his books are since you've never written a book yourselves and are not qualified to critique written works, good or bad. OK, I stand corrected: Alan has proven on here time and again he has written numerous volumes and thus has the RIGHT to comment on books and volumes. Hahahaha!

Hilarious and outlandish arguments :)

Same logic though, off the post. Pretty obvious you have never used any.

Alan, I enjoy each of your reads. I only wish this blog had picture options haha!

On a side note, after reading the posts on this thread and the one about the Frankes decisions that are anticipated over this summer for the past few days, I really feel like there are several people who do not get the concept of a blog. A blog is a tool that is used for people to express feelings and ideas. It is not a publication in any sense of the word. And whether or not some want to acknowledge the fact, there is a HUGE difference whether or not a "blogger" posts something as to whether or not someone whose profession it is to cover a team posts something.

I really don't understand why anyone would care what people discuss on a BLOG. The thought that discussing something as miniscule as minor league hockey rumors is going to hurt anything on a HOCKEY BLOG is laughable. We've been told time and again that the owners don't listen to us on here, so I really don't get some not having the slightest idea about what a blog is and getting in a twist over it. Nothing malicious is being said. And if the argument that something said on this blog is going to affect the decisions of people with power in minor league hockey, then some people give this or any blog way too much credit. My 2 cents, probably worth about half a cent haha

Way to kill the subject of this particular thread guys. I've seen 2 comments about the topic. One from my sister and anther from Dennis. Thank you Blake for taking the time out of your day to get "locked up". It goes for a great, great cause that I truly believe in. My son suffers from Duchenes MD. It's taken a huge toll on his body. The little boy is 10 yrs old and he hasn't walked in 2 years. All this BS about who can and can't play hockey, vote, run for office..who all cares. I bet all my son wants to do is WALK!!! Thank you again Blake

It is a good cause. Agreed. My nephew (who is 6) just got a procedure done over Christmas where the doctors at Riley performed surgery on both of his legs, leaving him in casts and unable to stand over Christmas, and in physical therapy since. He went from being unable to walk at Christmas to riding a bike this week WITHOUT the training wheels. I couldn't say anything better about the doctors at Riley who performed the surgeries, at basically no cost, because of donations and events like this one. I did the diabetes walk last weekend, and run LOTS of charity races and fundraisers for MD throughout the year.

I'm sure you've already done this, but if not, I would HIGHLY recommend working with Riley for your son.

We take him to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. They are one of the best pediatric hospitals in the country. They are also at the lead of finding a cure for Muscular Dystrophy. But, thanks.

JM....post of the week, IMO....made me laugh, anyway. May have been on the "off topic-topic", but was true anyway.
