Considering the Komets had to be whipped by playing 11 games in 18 days, and four in five days, Sunday's game was very impressive. They beat the team directly ahead of them in the standings on their own home ice. Motor City had been 7-3-0 in its last 10 games coming in so the Komets beat a very good team. Quad City also lost to fall further behind in the Western Division. About the only bad news is that Adironcack won so the Komets are still eight points behind the Frostbite for fifth overall.
The Komets can sure use a few days off.

I'm going with what our newbie (Whyte) said tonight: take it one game at a time. They've made some HUGE progress since the beginning of the season and even if we don't get home-ice advantage in the playoffs, I can't really be disappointed, after such an awesome comeback. GREAT JOB, KOMETS!

One of the best moments in Bob Chase's broadcast tonight: after (I think) the third goal, Chase paused for a moment, then out of the silence came a crowd of Komets fans yelling, "HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!" and then Chaser started talking again. That was brilliant! LOL
I agree, Blake. After a weekend like this, I hope they take it easy and enjoy their free days. LOL Good effort all weekend long, guys!

Just got back from a long weekend,the skated well all three games. played great fri. and sunday.The furys power play is way to strong, The komets just didn't hit enough.I set with the frankes sat.night they are komet fans. we talked alot they sound just like us.a lot of the same grips.It was alot of fun,very nice guys.
That was Tim Clark yelling He Shoots, He Scores...he started that in Flint friday night...it was pretty cool...I even yelled He Shoots, He scores a couple of times Friday...

Where did you sit at Flint? I was in section 9, row C, right next to the Komets bench. You might've saw me with 2 other women-- we were all wearing our Komets t-shirts or jerseys and cheering for the guys at the top of our lungs. :)
Smitty, that's what I've been telling you guys. It KILLS them when the Komets lose. Anyone who thinks they are just in this for the money is deluded. This is not just a business to them.

I agree Blake and Smitty, the Frankes aren't just owners, but they are fans also. They grew up watching Komet hockey, and they saved Komet hockey..I owe that to them...
The Komets played well all weekend. I was very impressed with the effort last night. It was well worth the lack of sleep I'm experiencing now at work. I was also one of those fans yelling "He Shoots, He Scores." There were about 9 of us sitting in front of Chaser. Not to mention the group with the Flags in the corner. It great turnout of Komet fans on a Sunday night.

It was great to see everyone yesterday from a distance. I came home from Canada with the flu and didnt want to get anyone sick. Besides, none of you wanted to put up with me anyway! :-)
Next time you come up to my neighborhood maybe I can set up something at a local restaurant and we can have a pregame meal?
