Blake any conformation that this year's play-off schedule will resemble the 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 format, again?

Yep, you can pretty much tell by looking at the two building schedules and seeing what's available. Lots of drive time ahead.

I thought that, but I will ask this question what good does it do to finish in 2nd or 1st place if the only advantage is to have home ice advantage if and only if there is a game 7? Kind of defeats the purpose of the regular season. I suspect even with a shorter season this same problem will continue to an extent. Is this schedule conflict the fault of MC or the fault of the league by not having a schedule in place sooner?

You might think so, but not really. Remember, the coliseum and the Komets dicuss their dates for next year basically in March every season.

It's a public building so it is responsible for making money and everybody wants Saturdays. The Christian concert, which I'm hoping to go to BTW, will be a sellout, no question about it. I went to one a month ago that drew 9,000-- on a Thursday.

Now, you can argue all you want about indoor football. I'd make them play on Sunday when I've got a Komets crowd vs. that crowd.

That's a good column idea about the regular season, though. I'm going to steal it!

I know what you mean, Blake. Even though they won the game on Saturday, at no point did I feel like they were controlling the play. Sure, it was the third game in three nights, but I didn't really get that feeling on Thursday, either, despite the 6 goals.

That type of format has not bothered the K's in the past and now days home field advantage is somewhat overblown. Now when you play the first two games at home in a series I think it is an advantaged. No question about MC's main purpose is to make money, but this is not the issue of this type of thing happening for the first time. Also, I know there has been great debate about the AHL. I believe that the arenas that those teams play in are required to hold dates for the play-off's and are written into their lease agreement.

So what was the reasoning for the 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 formatting again? Was it scheduling? With all the talk of costs and travel expenses, it just doesn't seem to fit into the mix of everything else to me.
