Interesting article

From Mike DeDonker of the Rockford Register Star on the proposed movement of an AHL team to Rockford. I especially thought and agree with Steve Martinson's sentiments. He's right on 100 percent with this.

You can read it here.

It's amazing to me how stupid some business people are, wanting to jump leagues and such without taking the time to really check out the numbers and how once again the NHL folks are concerned only about themselves. If I'm a Rockford taxpayer, or a Fort Wayne taxpayer looking at a downtown baseball stadium, I want to see hardcore numbers before anybody makes any move at all on these things with any of my money. And then I want to be able to check those numbers out as well.

Chicago even has an NHL team? Who knew? Certainly not the dozens of hockey fans in Chicago. Are the games on TV or something?

I don't know Blake, Hey why don't you call up the Blackhawks owner and find out why his team isn't on TV ;-)

Fine, I'll shut up. It's just frustrating being a Hawks fan. Now I know what IU basketball fans feel like. A storied franchise coming to an end.

Junior,
I was just poking back at you and meant no harm. Listen as a Leafs fan I know all about a storied franchise stuck in neutral or sometimes in reverse. The Hawks will turn it around. With little talent they still play hard and once they get it going again the fans will return. I sure miss the old Chicago Stadium. That was the first place I ever saw the Leafs play live. The national anthem there was worth the price of the ticket.
