Now, that was a typical David Hukalo garbage goal that the Komets have been desperate for. Did anybody notice after the Quad City cross check that wasn't called, Hukalo got back to his skates and gave Jacques Perreault a pretty good slash to create space before he scored the goal?
``I didn't slash the guy,'' Hukalo said with a grin.
Well, it wasn't called.
``Exactly. You have to do whatever you have to do to get a goal, especially when you've been struggling. It was nice to finally get one.''
Guess who the referee and linesmen are for Saturday's rematch in Quad City? Yep.
How about the save Nick Boucher made to stack the pads when it was 2-2 in the third? That was obviously the biggest save of the season so far.
I thought this was a pretty big win considering they lost another 2-0 lead and everybody else in the building thought they were going to find another way to lose. The vets really stepped up late and made sure it didn't happen. The MacMillan-Rechlicz fight was one of the best in recent memory. Check it out on the WANE highlights if you haven't seen it.

Are they going to sell those jungle jerseys?
need to throw them away!
Chuckitt--I am with you. I think we are just "old fashion" kind of guys!
Well when Hawthorne didnt call the quite obvious cross check on Hukalo why would he call a slash on 21? Garbage goal or not we will take it!! Mac did great in the first fight with a guy 6-4. Not so with Jason Goulet who is 6-5 245 and I think is one of the best fighters in the league. He is the one that gave Stayzer the concussion. Give Mac credit as he brought more intense play back to the Komets. I hear that the throwback jerseys will be sold also. Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!!
On my way to the game I was telling my wife.. "It would be cool it Larry the PA Guy played Return of the Mack, but I doubt it, Larry's kind of old school.."
Big props to Larry, made my night buddy!
(Sorry about the "old school")
