You can do it Komets! Make it 7-6 Komets!

Blake did we get faster or did they get slower?

Six goals scored and Curd is a -1 with zero points. Nice career floater!

Komets changed style, Mike. They quit trapping and just went hard forechecking and put the pressure all on the Colorado defense.

At 5-2 we had them right where we wanted them. Great comeback..

Glad the Ks at least changed things up and fought back tonight. Too many times lately it seems like they've just rolled over or piled mistakes upon mistakes.

This season they have come back more than once. Wasn't there a 5 goal comeback earlier this year or have I lost brain cells.

I think this game means so much more than the extra point that we lost tonight. We know, if we play our game and bang and hang, we can play with anyone in the league! Tomorrow should be fun!!!

Tonight's game was similar to the Wichita game where they were down 4-1 in the third and won 5-4.

They've had a couple of four-goal comebacks this year.

I was going to mention the Wichita game too... that's the last big comeback I remember. Then a few weeks later Frankie got hurt and everything seemed to fall apart again. Here's hoping this game is a sign the January/February Komets are back.

THey were down to Evansville 4-1 just last week.

Okay... I'm busted. But who could blame me for remembering the comeback against Wichita and forgetting one against one of the only teams in the conference behind the Komets.

Nevertheless, I hope tonight's comeback against the top team in the conference is a god sign. I'm sure we all do.

Please stop trapping on D and get going on the forecheck. Colorado did it to us all night and when we took a swing at the bully, he jumped back.

No reason to not keep playing like that all the time!

And someone said to cut APOD???

Worst idea of the year IMHO.

APOD looked like a seasoned veteran tonight. He matured right in front of our eyes tonight and took his level of play up about 3 notches tonight. He was incredible.

If fact, I haven't seen a better line this season in a game than Leo, OC, and APOD.....Those guys were dominating the play tonight.

Curadeau has a knack of doing a disapearing act in games like these and against teams that play at this level. Man I wish I could figure out what is wrong with him. He is a third-liner on the 7th best team in this conference in the CHL. And I might be stretching it alot by giving him 3rd line credit. No offense intended fellas and ladies, he just has had one of the most disappointing seasons I have ever seen a Komet player have in my years of watching Komet hockey. It is sad.

I have to say, I did not see this comeback developing at all. I really thought that if Al would have pulled the trigger on Reiter after the 3rd goal, maybe the Komets could get back in the game. I thought after 5 goals, it was too late.

Really, why not start Boucher tonight anyway??? He just came off a shutout.....what is up with killing these guys MOJO Big Al? Another very questionable decision by Big Al.

Great fight and heart and effort tonight.

Guys that I noticed playing balls to the walls tonight:

APOD, OC, Leo, Lardner, Krug, Cescon, Frankie D, Bobby P, and Ratchuk really turned it on late in the 2nd and played huge in the 3rd and OT.

I thought for sure Rat's shot went in during OT...I know it didn't know, but at first glance, I thought it was in.

We got hosed on the 6th goal by Colorado.....Cescon took a dirty highstick to the forehead underneath the visor, went to the ice in front of the ref, no call, and within seconds they score.

There were several highsticks that Mr. Genious Ref missed. And what's worse than the Refs this season....The linesmen have been worse this year than I have ever seen. Missed offsides, hand pass in the defensive zone called tonight, several missed or waived off or not waived off icings......Just awful.

This turned out to be probably one of the top 3 or 2 games of the year. Wichita, BS, and CO.

Felt nerves late in the game like playoffs....

Wonder which team shows up Saturday?

there was the Missouri game before the Wichita game. K's were down 5-1 in the third, got it to 5-4, but couldn't finish.

The CHL teams have definitely been the best games of the season.

I second that.

The IHL games have been downright Krap most of the time.

The CHL vs. Komet games have all been fun, interesting, and exciting for the most part...outside of a couple of beatdowns we have taken from RC and Colorado.

Anyone miss a 71% effort tonight? lol

My playoff lines are as follows:

Chaulk, Lardner, PC
Leo, OC, APOD
Lapointe, Schrock, Ratchuk
Curadeau

Cescon, Krug
Frankie, Molle
Guy, Phillips

Bouch...Reiter

I like those lines hit. Maybe we can get you on the bench for the playoffs!

I could arrange for a GQ Cardboard Cutout behind the bench with a roster and line combinations attached to it.

Sounds like i missed a good game due to work! Cant wait for tomorrow hopefully we keep the fore checking and not the trap! Questions seeing as i wasnt their, did mirasty try to go with anyone and did no one want to dance, or was he not getting a shift? Seeing as we were down so much i figure mirasty took acouple more shifts just to bring the momentum back in our favor! I agree APOD has been doing great on the ice, gettin back on D was his only problem and it kinda sounds like he def. did great tonight! Also Frankie has been stellar all season, so glad he's back.

Mirasty begged Penner to go, he tapped him with his stick.....the Ref gave him a slashing penalty.

Penner wouldn't fight.

Wow! So proud of the players for digging deep, being relentless and using all the talent we know you have!!

Giving some props to Coach Sims too for somehow helping to keep that motivation going in the team especially in these big come from behind games. Regardless of the players faults and weaknesses and regardless of the iffy coaching decisions that can frustrate and confuse...they have shown us that they don't just give up on themselves, each other, or their coach when things seem almost hopeless.

A better overall season would have been preferred but I do have respect for the players, and even Sims and the Frankes. Sure there are gripes but really there always have been and always will be.

It was a rollercoaster season and the playoffs might be the most thrilling part of all. GO K's!!!!

Also can't wait to see how coach and management change things up for next season. Gut tells me Sims is not going anywhere yet...so the pressure is on him to show us he can make the hard changes and recruit some special talent. A question I have is can a head coach override a GM's request to hold on to a past his prime/overpaid player or does the GM have the actual final say on those things?

I thought Mirasty was chirping at someone else besides Penner prior to a faceoff; maybe I was mistaken.

Mirasty asked Penner to go on three seperate occasions. Penner wanted nothing to do with it.

Sat, 03/26/2011 - 8:49am

Yeah little disappointed he did not accept Mirasty's challenge. Kind of reminded me of Martinson in Rockford who would have a no fighting rule when they would play the K's. Maybe tonig ht we will see it

Colorado was up by what 3 or 4 goals at the time? No reason for Penner to go and he did the right thing by not going and giving the crowd or the K's some energy at that point... Crap call at that point because those boys were hacking each other all night long with only a couple slashing calls made all night... The linesman should have let Krug and or Schrock go with Grimaldi after that spear...freaking overzealous linesman...

I thought the K's out played Colorado much of the night; but the bounces were just going the Eagles way. Also, I dont think Jones gave up more than a couple rebounds on shots until the end of the second period... Great, totally unexpected comeback; but think more confidence would have come from actually winning... There are no points for OT losses in the playoffs....

Great character displayed by the boys, lets see how they build from it tonight...
