Tailing the Komets

It's not the defense

From what I've seen tonight, the forwards are more of a problem than the Komets playing with five defensemen. They aren't going to the net, getting to the dump-ins or winning any of the battles in the corners. There's no traffic in front, no getting to rebounds or paying the price in front, period. Seems to me a lot of the Port Huron shots are coming from up high where the forwards aren't covering their man. How the heck do you consistently get beat to the puck on dump-ins on the power play, and they were getting beat all night?

Well if Nick wasn't standing on his head at times from the turnovers that the D gave up then this game wouldn't been close. I agree about the forwards with exception of Mac and Gravelle...Mac scores a goal and then he fights Cowan got love that guy. Legualt on the other hand is becoming a waste of space because has done NOTHING period. I suppose Franke still can't find a D-man either although he has plenty of time to look for one since Beckett bolted..

Well where was the D on the last goal when PH walks in on a breakaway? How many breakaway's or odd man rushes tonight, about 3 to many...

You are absolutely right, Blake. Our forwards couldn't do much of anything last night. The only one I saw really hustling was Varone and Boucher was standing on his head and flopping around like a fish out of water. If not for him, we would have been blown out of the game. NO ONE goes to the net; there is NEVER anyone there for a rebound. At least shoot toward the net and hope for a garbage goal. Quit trying to make the PERFECT shot or pass. Do something! Hit somebody!

I agree with ToeBlake - Legs is a waste of space. Osman has never been the same since he came back from his injury. Shaf must have been hurting because he just wasn't himself either. Sad to say, I think it's going to be a long season.
