Uh-oh....will he be moping around again in the warm-up skate like he was when he got traded to Flint? I felt awful for him. Might not have helped that the Flint players were all wearing the Komet player photo buttons with his and Gravelle's faces on them, I don't know....that was pretty darn funny. Ya gotta admire a sense of humor. Gravelle had his pinned on as well, but Holladay did not.

BTW, the Black Mite team at McMillen is now 2-0 after week 2, with an 11-1 victory today over the Blue team. My son scored another goal today (and was playing defense, even....acting like a Brandon Warner)!! Go, Jason!!

Congrats Blake on 30 years with the Sentinel, I've never made it that long with one company.

Congrats to the Black Mites and especially to Jason! Playing like Warner, eh? Sounds like he's doing well... providing he can stay healthy. LOL. And keep him away from poison ivy!

Whoa... Is that right? 30 years?! Were you a paper boy for the first 10 years of that? Because you don't look old enough to be celebrating that many years.

Hey Blueline Baby (Cat eyes). I doubt very much if Holladay will mope around at all. He was so disappointed leaving the K's and going to the worst team that it is to his credit that he hung in there. I don't know for sure but I would guess that he told Flint he would never play there this year and to trade him somewhere. He is going to Quad City which has a great building, a nice hockey history, and if they can get the magic back, fans that can pack the place.... congratulations to your son on his second goal......and , by the way, did you get to see any of the Bengals-Browns game? It was a fun game to watch (although aggravating at the same time!!).... Blake, if this is your 30th anniversary-then congratulations. I remember when Burgee wished you a Happy Birthday and then you denied it was your birthday so I have learned to be a little skeptical....trust is something that when spurned, can never be earned. ( I just made that up, and it isn't bad). You all may use that in the future if you wish.... I am going to pick up my season tickets in a while and that means hockey is back!!

Blake- I checked the Komets preseason roster on their website and they do not list Travis Whitehead. The last thing I heard was he was going to stay at the AAA camp through the weekend. Has something happened that we don't know about. Last week he was listed on their roster. What's the story?

Thanks, Wendy, and Alan! My son is very excited, and is more than willing to fill in as needed this season for the Komets. Just kidding....he is really happy his team is doing so well, though. He is their little locker room speech guy....he gets 'em all going. It's so obvious he has watched "Miracle" and the "Mighty Ducks" movies about 800 times each.

Alan, you may be right about Holladay....I talk to a girl who still chats with him, and he hated it there. I hope he is happier in Quad City. The Browns are terrible...I'm still a fan, but good Lord are they bad.

I'll vouch for Blake's 30 years with the N-S. He knew very early in life what he wanted to do and he want after it. I've been privileged to call Blake my friend for a slightly longer period of time. He never wants accolades, but you'll never find a harder working or more honorable journalist. Congrats, Blake!
