Larry Sterling is playing.
Us Die hard fans were here tonight, we braved the weather, recession and endless stoplights to get to the game. My wife even took money from me to go to the souvi stand to pick up a christmas present for me.
BAM24 is really sick and missed the hockey game, everyone needs to give him a shout out.
Get better soon, BAM24. I hope it's nothing serious.
I'm a Die Hard fan too. Bruce Willis cracks me up.
Get well, BAM24....hope you feel better soon.
Before the negative posts start, I just want to say something totally biased and positive. Best flag carrier ever tonight....my kid! LOL! He had a great time, and so did we. Thanks to the Komets organization for letting the kids do stuff like that. He was so excited to get all "dressed" in Kaleigh Shrock's locker area. Gives him even more room to dream. He's already following in Shrock's footsteps, and I can only hope he gets as far as that kid has.
I liked those movies as well.
Robert better not get in my face.
Before any Haun bashing starts, how many games in a row is this? If Tyler Sims can't play then they need to sign a backup who can. You wouldn't run Boucher or anyone else out there this many games in a row with the possible exception of playoff time. Even with all of this, he is still playing well and I know he won't admit to needing a night off but it is time.
One other thing.... I know it's the hometown discount and all but who picked the three stars tonight? Komets 1 and 2 with the courtesy #3 to Sterling? Blake tell me I don't have to yell at you for this? lol
He has played well. However, I wish he would play well in that blue area in front of the net more. He's really made me nervous a lot of times skating all over the place when he doesn't need to, and it bit him tonight with an open goal. I'm not saying other goalies don't leave the goal, but not when it's that crowded with the other team rushing down on the net.
Haun is no Boucher, and he never will be........Boucher played 17 or so straight games last season when Seabass went down for the second time. Thats a big difference between a starter and a backup. The starter can handle the workload. A few bad goals tonight can attest to that,
Boucher wasnt Boucher until 2 post seasons ago... I think Haun has done very well considering the lack of offense from the K's in front of him...
I agree JR.....how would you like being in net knowing that you have to let less than 1 or 2 goals or you are gonna lose. He has been hung out to dry on alot of goals. Bert and Guy look like pylons sometimes. +9.....that is unreal.
The overall team intensity is poor. Do they care? No hitting. Lack of hustle. Cruise control. And younger players look lazy at times. This worries me alot. The chemistry is not good. Maybe once the roster is set, lines take form and Al leaves them alone, maybe they might start playing some hockey?
BTW, to put Haun's play into perspective here are where some of his numbers fall amongst the other league goalies...
9 wins = tied for 1st
2.36 GAA = 4th
914:40 min = 1st
.911 spct = tied for 5th
370 saves = 1st
2 SO wins = 2nd
.909 SO% = 2nd (1 goal allowed)
15 Games played = 1st
Not too shabby for a backup goalie.....
Also the K's offense is averaging 2.79 goals for and the D is averaging 2.47 goals against... Not much wiggle room for a goalie, as Hit pointed out....
Good points JR. I doubt he has let in more soft goals then any other goalie at this level, especially considering the time in net.
He has allowed two goals by being caught out of the net (and those do bother me) but last nights had no affect on the outcome, the rest of the team blew that.
I come in from the South and had no problems driving through town. The traffic was so light I caught all the lights and got to the coliseum in almost record time!
