Interesting that this happens now since Lenchenski wants to change the rules on IR list this week.

G_Hockey-- I was of the thinking he made a few pretty good points. It is all about cost and money. Isn't it always?

A very nice article, Blake. I'm kind of surprised that the AHL does not have a roster limit. I would think that Syro will be there for the entire year. The only way we will see him back here may be when Norfolk fails to make the playoffs.....by the way, a little while ago I put a comment in under "Is this a good idea?" I respect the comments of all of you and I'd like you to read my entry. I respect your opinions and I'd like to know if you all think I've got the right idea. Thanks in advance.

No inside info, but I think Syro will be back sooner rather than later.

He's coming back because Woods is coming back.

Syro coming back because of his buddy Woods? I'm thinking Woodsy would want him to stay up and advance his career if possible.

Syro won't come back unless the AHL team lets him go. Contract aside if he walked away from an AHL team for a friend, it would be a career damaging choice because his priorities clearly would not be in the right place.

Why do you think Syro will be back sooner than later, Blake? With no roster rules in the AHL, and projecting Syro's goals and assist totals, he would finish with 18 goals and 12 assists. Not bad numbers at all. Of course if you project out his plus/minus totals, he would be a minus 18. Just curious to see what your logic is.

Blake, Didn't I tell ya it might be a jinx to mention the IR? Alright Burgee, it's up to you...is it The Curse of Del Griffith? And I promise you Blake that someday soon I'll post a pic when I looked like a member of Los Tigres Del Norte.

Things Larry has warned me about over the years: Tequila doesn't hit you until two hours in; it's good luck to wear your Komets jersey in Toledo; Al Sims doesn't mind when you ask if his team can play harder; and Orange can be a positive fashion statement.

Blake, what I said was tequila is never ok for you even in moderation (especially Tila Tequila);wearing a Komet jersey is ok in Toledo now, but I wouldn't have dared it in the Sports Arena/Goaldigger days; Al always knows best; and orange is ok unless you are spray tanned orange like a middle aged fashion designer. That's what I REALLY said. Now, Let's Go Komets!

Hey, Komets PA - I remember going to a playoff game in Toledo back in the day wearing orange painter pants and a Komets t-shirt! Maybe that's why Teddy Garvin started that riot throwing those old wooden folding chairs onto the ice! He didn't like us wearing the orange and blue (and yes, it was orange and blue in those days)!

I wore my Komets jersey about a month ago to a game in Toledo, and a line brawl broke out on the ice....had nothing to do with me or the jersey, but it was fun all the same, especially since we (Toledo) were winning the game at the time. Finished 5-1 over Elmira, after a few more of their antics, including one of their players throwing his helmet at one of the linesmen....wow. But my point was, I got lots of questions and nice comments about the jersey and the Komets in general, people asking how they were doing and saying they wished that Toledo was still playing in the same league as them since they missed that rivalry. Not one unpleasant person in the least. It was great! (well, unless you count the psycho guy in the Wendy's we stopped at, but he was just upset that his bacon was not cooked....had nothing to do with my jersey either, but he yelled at me all the same....)
