Changes coming? Like ownership changes? Or more IHL2 veterans that can't play in this league?

Slow start or slow season? Aren't we far enough into the season that we can stop with thinking this is just a slow start and start acknowledging that this is just one of those years the Komets don't have it?

It's not Christmas yet!

Hahaha, GM! I was wondering who would be the first to say it.

"And are the Komets going to find any better players with better track records than what they already have?"

Maybe that's the problem, we are looking for better track records rather than looking for better futures (or presents)!

Nicely stated komets123. I'm very disappointed with the start of the season as is everyone else. I'm also disappointed in the fact that very little has changed since the beginning of the season. That being said I am not in the locker room nor am I on board with all the goes on behind the scenes. The ownership and leadership of the team have earned my support and belief that they are working hard to correct our current path. They have earned that over the past several years. While its tempting to throw them under the bus 4 what we've seen so far this year I won't do it. I am a season ticket holder and will continue to support this team and its leadership by attending every game cheering my home team on. Even I grew too take for granted victory after victory after victory that we have experienced in the past few years.

While I don't believe Sims is the problem, the issues with the Komets are lockerroom problems. Anyone who has ever played sports knows chemistry means alot. This team does not have it. Until the Komets management gets serious and shows the door to a few players who deserve to go, nothing will change. Curadeau, Drouin, Warner, and Dupuis must go now. Leo has been a head case everywhere else he has been, it is now creeping into the Komets lockerroom.

Getting Chaulk back would be very solid. If Syro comes back with the right attitude, he would be solid. I still think the Komets have very solid goaltending with Boucher and Reiter. The other issue the Komets have is the lack of discipline in taking stupid penalties. If that continues, release the players who are continually taking the penalties. Too often this year, the Komets effort has been terrible, especially from the vets on the team. I can handle losing if a full effort is given, but this team has quit in several games this year and been very non-competitive. Make the changes Frankes! Now!

It's not about speed and it's not about shots on goal.

I count 655 opposition saves on 698 shots. That's a respectable 33.2 shots/game. That's also a .938 save percentage. Are we facing Marty Brodeur every night?

The problem is the quality of shots, and missing nets when a high quality shot is available. To me, that means patience, occupying space at the crease, taking punishment inside, and manufacturing some high-quality opportunities.

Good stuff, everyone. Right on In The Bllue. While the shots on goal are important. Scoring chances are more important. If those shots are from the perimeter or from bad angles they are not "scoring chances". I will accept the points made about not attending games. However, those of you who are there game in game out. Are they getting the net presence to turn those intiial shots and some rebounds into bona fide chances? You have to pay the price in any hockey to cash in on these types of chances.

I have been to every home game this year, and watched the last 4 road games on chl-tv. There is very rarely anybody in front of the net.

Why don't the Komets try to go after Martin Gascon? He isnt playing anywhere this year.

Hoss

I think you missed my point, or maybe I didn't even make it....

If we are looking to make a change in the team, why are we going out and trying to get guys that have a proven track record? (i.e. older) Our team is filled with track records better than any other team in the league and what did it get us? I was trying to say we should take a chance on some younger, more hungry, guys and see where that gets us.

Saturdays game started out great. It looked like the live practice they have been holding was paying off. But it only paid off for the first 30 mins. Did the players have a big let down after Dayton score their first goal or did they run out of gas? Either way, some new younger blood and that leader coming in will do us some good!

Point goes to Hoss.

If the Komet hockey team that played the first period of Saturday's game showed up for the balance of the season, I would be an extremely happy fan. Even if we lose a game when we have shown full effort, I can go home satisfied. When they start skating around in circles and acting like they are on a strong sedative, I want to pull my hair out. When we spend several minutes not able to clear the puck out of our end, I want to shout to them to pick it up and throw it. The first period and third period Saturday did not look like it was even the same group of players on the ice. If there is truly a problem with one or two individuals in the locker room, why are those individuals still with us this far into the season? You need to remove the cancerous cells if you want a chance at being healthy.

maybe the cancer cell was waived last week. in the locker rooms ive been in over the years, if you dont want to be here, then leave. nothing worse in the locker room than someone who does not want to be on the team. win or lose

Try someone with a higher jersey number...

Kinda agree with GM..... Think the cancer has a much higher jersey number. .. who knows though. Need some good inside info to figure that one out..

Ohhhh!!! Can we play that game on Price is Right where I guess a number and you say higher or lower????? I love that game!

How can any of you sit here and make comments or speculate about certain players in a locker room that you don't sit in and never will sit in. Yeah , your post are pretty credible! Lol

komets123
Mon, 12/20/2010 - 7:38pm

Brian -

That is exactly why I stated on my post "Need inside info" .... I think everyone is aware of that fact Brian.. that we aren't in the locker room to know for sure... People are simply taking their best guess at the locker room problems that is believed to exist. Nothing wrong with that IMO...

Besides, even if this paticular player isn't the locker room trouble, he sure does suck on the ice.. We all get to witness that.

Mon, 12/20/2010 - 8:17pm

All because you don't sit in the locker room doesn't mean you can't be good friends with someone that does...

Didn't Brian make the statement that Naurato was the cancer to start this whole "cancer" conversation?

Chaulk and Syro. Its all rumors. Does anybody have any substantial evidence to say these guys are coming back? We have been saying it all season and has gotten us nowhere. I would love to have them back also. But until there is an official press release I won't believe it until I see it. And would they be the answer? If they come back I hope so or I think then the season would be lost for good. IMO

Maybe they are gonna bring Aquino back. He is playing in Italy also..... Remember it is "I" that started this rumor. He will be here by the playoffs, maybe in the lounge like we seen him last year, but hey that means he is still here! haha
