Well at least we won't have to hear people whining about favoritism now. That being said, Haun has looked better so far, so barring other considerations, this decision makes sense.

No one doubts that this had to be a tough decision for Al Sims to make. The pure honesty and dedication to the Komets that it would take to realize that someone else did a better job than your own son speaks highly to the character (where have we heard that word before?) of our coach. Is it the right decision? Yes, in my mind it is. Haun has the experience and put up terrific numbers this exhibition season. Remember that he came in to camp last year, almost made the team, and when sent down, he did his job and came right back to Fort Wayne when LaPlante got hurt and did well. Then, as LaPlante got healthy, took his demotion with professionalism. I'm not saying that Tyler Sims is not a good goaltender. I'm just saying that based on the play, Al Sims made the correct call. I'm glad the decision has been made. I think the longer this would have gone on may have had the affect of a divided locker room and been a distraction for the team. I hope I've conveyed my feelings clearly and wonder if the rest of you agree with me. Good luck to Tyler Sims and maybe we will see him again in a Komets uniform someday. Good job, Coach Sims. We know it was a tough decision for many reasons and we respect you even more for your dedication.

Very Very well put Alan. Truth is Haun has be the best goalie in all the preseason games, that includes all the goalies. To answer the questions yes I went to all three preseason games.

This may not be a "No," but rather a "Not yet." In any event, I believe the right call was made. I'm craving hockey so badly I may just drive two hours each way Friday.

Well said Alan.

A very tough decision I sure for Coach Al.....for many reasons besides it is his son. But I am sure lots of things factored into this decision.....salary cap, rookie limits, roster needs, young talent vs. veterans....etc.

Glad we can sit back and guess and second guess, because I wouldn't want to be in Al's shoes. These are tough decisions all together. But it does mean one thing, they did another hell of a job recruiting players again. They brought in very capable players again this season, and it is hard to decide who should stay and who should go.

Well said Alan.

Very tough decisions for Coach Al to make all around. There are lots of factors we all don't see, like salary cap, roster limits, etc. One thing I am sure of is this, they did one heck of a job recruiting young players to camp again this season. The final decision has had to be very difficult, because they brought in top talent once again this year. Kudos to Al and the Komets Organization for bringing in great young players.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Alan. I agree.

Tyler just needs a little more experience. I have a feeling we will see him in a Komet uniform in the near future. I believe that time will be when Nick retires (more likely) or leaves. It had to be hard on Al, but it does represent extreme dedication to coaching. Tyler will play on a team this year for sure.

Tyler to Evansville?

Don't be surprised to see Tyler back in a Komets uniform when Hukalo comes off the IR and the Komets are injury-free. David will more likely replace a rookie player and Haun could be the odd non-rookie out. Just a little thinking ahead on my part.

Just in-case anything were to ever happen to Boucher, and based on the exhibition games, I sure hope you're wrong, Bigjohn.
