A couple of years ago Robbie Laird was asked this question by Randy during an interview on their show.

Basically Robbie said the talent of the three leagues (IHL2 at the time) was considered the same and rarely if ever scouted by pro scouts. Not enough scouts, not enough time in a week, and too many other games going on to cover. He said at the AA level they rely on the coaches for information.

Agreed Mr. Snuff,

Now I go back into hiding.

Long live the Winnipeg Jets!

btw,

One of my career highlights is scoring 2 goals on Darren Jensen 3 days before he headed to Philadelphia to take over the net for the Flyers.

Very true Steve. Central scouting doesn't touch this stuff and so alot of talent gets buried.

PA if I was smart I'd join you in hiding. But what's the fun in being smart?

If Jensen hand't gotten caught between Pelle and Hextall he might have stuck around longer.

Was your two goal game before his first career start where he gave up 7 or the second year? If you are the one who shattered his confidence before his first start shame on you haha.

I think we still need team toughness...Starts with hitting, Henley is a good start and I believe he will help alot. Maybe it will make the kids alot calmer and that will help.

Blake, how involved, if any, is Chaulk in the behind the scenes running of this team? What I mean is, is he brought in to give his 2 cents worth on players on the bubble? We know that Chaulk did alot of work this summer recruiting players and all signs are pointing to him having a large part in this organization after his playing days are done, so I was just curious if his roster input stopped once camp was started or his he still contributing???

Thanks...

Blake, another question is who in the Komets organization really wanted Henley? Was it David Franke, was it Al Sims, or was it both of them? A player that is not wanted by the coach will not get used much. To be effective, tough guys need to skate regular shifts and continually make their presence known. Will Sims do this?

Both wanted him. Sims played him a regular shift the first time he was here, so why wouldn't he now. He just didn't play Mirasty because well, he couldn't play any more.

Which coach brought in the Ice Patrol? Which coach played Craig Martin and Chris McRae a regular shift?

Chaulk is not involved at all in personnel decisions. That would put him in an incredibly difficult and uncomfortable position as captain and it would not work.

So have him retire and make him assistant GM ;)

IMO he's too valuable and contributes just fine where he is at. When he gets to the point he should retire, GM or Assistant GM still isn't the spot for him, he needs to be down on the ice with the players teaching and working with them. GMs and their assistants don't do that.
