Tailing the Komets

Komets lead 2-1 after two periods

The Komets have taken a 2-1 lead on a goal by Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn off a Colin Chaulk pass at 13:57 of the second period. Rick Varone for the Komets and Dan Boeser for the Lumberjacks scored in the first period.

Lots and lots and lots of penalties called by Burgee's favorite referee. 10,480 fans in attendance, and what I can't get over are the empty seats from what I'm guessing must be corporate season-ticket holders. Plain and simple, those bosses should be fired! Hung in effigy! Forced to wear Icy's Nutcracker tights!

why was ramsey so upset at the end of the game?

Legitimately so. Chaulk wasn't called for hooking McArthur on Thomas's goal and because one of the Komets set a pick to free up Hodgman on his goal. And they did, but it wasn't called. That's why he was upset.

I don't really blame him, for this reason: compare how Hawthorne called Game 3 and how he called Game 5 and there's no consistency at all.

Your right Blake, Hawthorne was horrible both ways tonight...I would of rather had Langdon again or searle...but oh well

Komet are the 2009 Turner Cup Champions

Even though I never have anything good to say about opposing teams, it was pretty cool seeing everyone show class during the handshakes, and that goes both ways. Muskegon played several good games and I enjoyed the series.
Also, I can't say enough for the crowd tonight. Pretty neat when we can all drown out the goal horn at the end of the game. Word on the street was there were even over 5,000 people at the Tin Caps game at the same time. Fort Wayne is a pretty good place for sports and I think it shows with efforts like tonight from the fans.
Can't wait to do it all again next year. Congratulations Komets!

The people I was sitting beside initially were complaining about the empty seats, too. To be honest, I didn't see that many more empty seats than were there last year. By the second period, they usually get filled by people moving from other areas, but I know what you mean. Other than the occasional person who had something come up, it would be interesting to see the MC filled to capacity. And there would be fewer cheesed off fans who couldn't get in.
