kometspa: the hubby had a great idea.....when Lawmaster steps out on the ice for his shift, please please please play the audio clip of "Looooooseeeerrrrrr" from Ace Ventura. Or another one would be "What a total and complete loser" from the same movie. Just everytime he is near the puck, touches the puck, looks at the puck, etc. And if he goes near Shaf, we need to find a song for that as well.......I'll work on the music library for that one.

You don't break them on purpose. Not very often if you want to keep doing what you do. Knowing Larry, He can away around some of those every once in a while. No one deserves to hear it more than Lawmaster.

I forgot about that....ok, well then, as soon as they are making the line change and he's coming out onto the ice, then. That should get around it. The puck would be stopped at that point!! And then we can all boo when he touches the puck, for added emphasis, if so desired....

Ever since that big brawl, we haven't touched their scorers. So I guess what they did worked. They, however, don't mind taking liberties with our scorers. We got dominated physically last night. They knocked down Chaulk, Hukalo, Chewy and Klempa every chance they got. I don't think we touched Bouchard or Robinson all night. They have sent the message and have dominated us ever since.

I say the coach needs booed when his name is announced too!! He is the one who ordered the attacks! I think it would send a huge statement if the whole crowed booed when the coach's name was announced.

I know Mac is due back mid-December....when does Boucher come off IR?

Kromm....grrrr....I don't like him.

And really, Alan, we seem to be fine, we just have trouble against Muskegon, who is a really good team. I hate admitting that they are good, but they are. What problems do we have, other than handling Muskegon? If you don't count them (and I know we have to), we have a spectacular record. Or have I been watching a different team than you have? You have me a little confused here. Admittedly, it's easy to do. :)

Take Robinson, Bouchard and Dipace line out they lose their offense, as our defense improves throughout the year I think we will shut that line down, then give them an occasional beat down. Furyjacks are sissy crybabies.

We need enforcers. We have shrockey who cant do it all. Bert is suposed to but he doesnt intill the endd of the game. Stayzer is supposed to do something he doesnt he smiles instead. He is not afarid to go but he sucks at doing it. We need to sign and cut. Hukalo is flat out bad at everthing cut his and pick up a real enforcer.

Hi there, Blueline Baby. I know that when you look at the record (10-5) you would have every right to say, "Hey Alan, what's with the pessimistic outlook?" My first reaction would be to say that it is not only Muskegon we are having trouble with. We've won very, very close games against Dayton, Quad City, and just recently Flint who (if you remember correctly) absolutely controlled and dominated the third period Thanksgiving night. Bloomington has given them trouble and Port Huron is a very good team. Mark, who I know is very knowledgable says we will be OK when Boucher, Mac and Syro comes back. Well, sure that would help, but the goaltending and the defense have not been the problem. Syro being gone is part of it. ( I don't think we will see him again this season). The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that the offense has just disappeared. You just can't go through a season and depend on winning 3-2,2-1, or 2-0 games all year. It just puts too much pressure on your defense. The second biggest problem is that the K's take way too many penalties and it is the veterans (who should know better) that are taking them. Tripping, holding, and hooking are penalties that indicate that the offending player was just plain "beaten" to the play by the opposing team.... Chaulk hasn't put the puck in the net, Klempa has disappeared, Varone got his first goal just last Thursday. If not for Thomas, Drouin, and Chewy I'm not sure who would score and the only real impressive guy is Chewy who just joined the team. When the season began I never dreamed we would have this much trouble scoring. The forward lines seemed to be loaded. Then you add players like O'Conner and Chewy and you would think this team would just dominate. It hasn't happened and now we have played one-fifth of the season. We need more "selfish" players and when I say that I mean players who shoot the puck instead of looking for the perfect pass. There are some players who love to dish out assists, but you can't get an assist without someone scoring a goal. The talent seems to be there, Blueline Baby, but the goals scored per game average is just not going to cut it. Maybe we are too "old", or maybe we are too "young", or maybe a combination of both. If that is the case then there will be some real tough decisions to be made. Shoot the puck, crash the net, and pick up some rebounds. "Garbage" goals count just as much as "pretty" ones and the crowd will cheer just as loud. Did that help explain where I'm coming from Blueline Baby. I hope so.

BLB, I would point out that we lost our only game against Port Huron, so depending on how things go tonight, we could be having trouble with them too! Also, don't you remember during the 2008 playoffs that Larry got in trouble for playing clips that to target specific players? At the time, he was told that he could only play things that made fun of the team in general. I'm sure HE remembers that!

Blueline Baby

Wendy, I never knew that. I'd hate to see Larry get in any trouble!!

And Alan, I see what you are trying to get at. Penalties are bad, yes, but the vets get them every season. I don't think they are doing it more this season than any other one. And I still think winning a game 3-2 is just as good for us as winning 8-1. Yes, it puts pressure on your defense. But you could argue that they get better that way, too. And it's funny to me that you say that you never thought we would have trouble scoring....that's exactly the area I thought we were a bit less loaded in at the beginning of the season. We are still a great team, still have a winning record, and I think we'll pull it out. But then, I'm the eternal optimist, so what do I know?

I do agree with you about everyone trying to be the setup guy....some days it gets frustrating when from the stands it appears that someone has a great shot, and they pass it to another player who truly does not. But, then, I'm not down there, and I'm sure Coach Sims is handling that in his locker room and in the practices. Sometimes things just take time to click with these guys. Look at last season! They were doing really badly for a while, then boom! They caught fire and we won another Kup!

We're ok. We are. Maybe not perfect every game, nope. Who is? But we are a really good team almost every single time we are on the ice, and that's good enough for me! :)

Haun is in no way the problem. Having Boucher back will give the team two reliable goalies but it isn't going to make an overall difference based on the goaltending they are getting now.

Mark21
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 11:38pm

In no way was I saying Haun is the problem...he's been great....but can the komets continue to ride him for a month straight...that worries me a bit....other than that...Im not gonna complain at all. Once the Komets get thier key guys back, we will be fine.

MR SNUFFLUPUGUS, how can you say that having Boucher back WON'T make a difference in goaltending for this team? I'm sorry and no offence to Haun, who has done admirably for the team, but he is no Boucher........Ask the players.......they have more confidence in Boucher and that might be affecting the goal scoring at the other end.
