Tailing the Komets

Komets lose 5-3

And frankly, they got what they deserved from that effort. It should have been 4- or 5-1 after the first period but Nick Boucher kept them in the game. Mario Larocque scored two goals in the final five minutes to give the Icemen the win.

``That team has beaten us all year, and they continue to beat us in this building,'' Komets coach Al Sims said. ``We can't seem to come up with a way to beat them. They played really well, They are a desperate team that played really well to come back from 3-2 with three or four minutes left in the game. It was a great effort by them.''

Alan I agree with you about next year. I have been told by the people I talk to that there was too much time spent basking in the glow of victory this past summer and not nearly enough time put in working the scouting channels. For a time I was actually hoping the Komets finished dead last this year because I thought it would finally force them to clean house and rebuild. I didn't want a repeat of the New York Islanders although the franchise here is far more stable than that one ever was.
But as I said I have been told win or lose there will be changes to how things are done next year so at this point as a fan and an advertiser I am happy. :)
