Tailing the Komets

Komets parade/proclamation is a GO

There will be a ceremony at the City-County Building at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, likely on the front steps. There will be proclmations read by the mayor and the city council and likely some remarks from Al Sims and Guy Dupuis, and a brief amount of time for autographs and pictures. Then everyone will leave at approximately 6 p.m. by fire trucks, trolleys, or something to head to the coliseum for the fan party. They will pull directly into Memorial Coliseum Expo 1 at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open for the fan party at 6 p.m.

The official route has yet to be determined. I'll let you know more when I know more.

Tell you what, a LOT of people better show up for it or they are going to look very foolish after griping for the last year about the lack of one last year.

I was not at last year's season ending party. Were there ample places to sit? I guess my only apprehension is that if you go to the parade/proclamation you will get to the party 30-45 minuets after the people who did not go to the parade.

Now THAT'S what I call making an entrance. Lol. As for last year, it wasn't the lack of a parade that bothered me. It was the fact that absolutely nothing was done -- not even a proclamation or appearance by the mayor at the EOS party to congratulate them. And even that wouldn't have bothered me if it weren't for the fact that the mayor was happily handing out proclamations for everyone else -- even the "stupid, fake dinosaurs".

Shawn: Not sure how many people will be at the party this year. Last year they had a record crowd, or so they said, and there were still plenty of places to sit. The room was filled with round tables and chairs all around them. The players were seated at the front of the room, but everyone was free to walk wherever they wanted, collecting autographs, shooting the breeze, whatever.

Ramsey was entertaining to watch compain to the refs. I hope Muskegon can get a quality coach in there to keep the ball rolling with that organization.

Here's a better link for the Rammer story: http://bit.ly/8eYNw

I was a little sad, and definitely surprised to see this. I sincerely wish Bruce all the best and hope he lands on his feet somewhere. I also hope Musky can find/get a quality coach to keep that storied organization going.

I love how they refer to Fort Wayne in that article as a "kingpin".
