No offense. Poor defense. Lousy passing. Power play was non-existant.
Leo Thomas had way too much ice time for a guy who really doesn't hustle and disappears on the ice. He did have some revealing remarks to the press on the komets woes and how to fix them. Gee, I wish he would practice what he preaches. I understand the fact that Podshendyalov isn't the most gifted forward to get back and play the defensive part of the game, but he has been the only bright spot offensively and knows how to pass the puck. Why was he held from the ice so much last night?
All year I've been calling for more offense. David Franke was in the hallways before the game, in the press box during the game, but the only place he wasn't ( and should have been) was on the phones looking for help.
Look folks, this team has way too many holes right now. Did anybody watch Henley Friday night? Worst game I've ever seen him play.
Good for Al Sims to call out some of his "better" players. There is a lot of blame to pass around to everybody when the team is looking so bad. Al Sims deserves some of the blame as well. Remember how he extolled the virtue of finally having three days in a row to practice. He said it was time to tighten up the power play and penalty kill. How's that power play work coming along, Al?
"Recovery weekend" is two-thirds gone. Playing a hungry Quad City team today. Hope the guys get off the bus better than they got on it.
Gerry Festa was the only "shining Komet" last night. Never thought I'd say that.
Once again, time for some phone calls, David. Time to let loose of Thomas and Lovell. Others to follow.
