How do you replace the reigning Goaltender of the Year? By signing a former Goaltender of the Year.
The Komets might be close to signing goaltender Kevin Reiter, general manager David Franke said.
``Nothing is finalized, and I don't expect to know anything totally about him until the middle of next week,'' Franke said. ``There's a very strong possibility he may come back. We're working toward that and hopefully it will happen."
Reiter has told me in the past he'd love to play in Fort Wayne again.
More later. Off to my nephew's football game.

Off to a football game? blake you need to get your nephew some skates!!
Oh yes.....the greatest Komet goaltending duo since...well Reiter and Boucher
Reiter, huh? Ok, I'm good with that. But I gotta find that bungee cord to keep him tethered to the net or else my Mom's not gonna have any fingernails or voice left after the first few games. "GET BACK IN YOUR NET!!"
I just had an anxiety attack thinking about Reiter.....LOL
Bungee Cord Required.....I like this if he comes back.
Great Duo we will have.
Great news if it indeed happens. Kevin's had a rough go over in Europe, so I'm sure it will be nice to play somewhere stable again.
Go get him, David! I love Reiter and the excitement he brings to the game. Who else do we get to yell "Get back in your net!!!" to more???
Seriously though, I always liked Reiter even when he played for Missouri. I knew he would be a great goaltender if he had some defense in front of him and he proved that when he played here. I'm looking forward to having another great goaltending duo this season. I hope they convince him to come back.
FMM....me and your mom are going to Walmart....I looked for (and found) an orange bungee cord.....think Kevin would be offended if I asked to tie him to the pipes each game? LOL....
As long as he stays in the net or at least within reasonable distance....I'm okay. Otherwise, I think Reiter's contract needs to include anti-anxiety meds for me along with whatever he'll make each week. I'm not sure I can handle another season of him.
