Good win in the third period. I was looking forward to finally getting to see the super Russian kid play. No dice.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 10:58am

Overall an excellent effort for most parties...
Lardner is and excellent player, nose for the puck, interferes with Gems up ice rush...a pleasure to watch
Concentrated on LeGault as well.....again, there must be another player to trade for...however I hear there are family/work related ties keeping him here
Boucher looked slightly off his game and second goal I believe was questionable

"super russian kid" ? where do you get the information he is even good? he comes from a very very low unheard of jr league and you think he is our saviour here? lol.. i wouldnt get to excited until he is on the roster and seen play a game.

A couple of observations and comments:

I thought Legault played one of his all time better games last night. He played a smart game, broke up a number of Dayton's scoring chances, and played his position well. He didn't get caught up in a "physical" style of play that could have led to unnecessary penalties. If the Komets could ever get their scoring woes behind them, then a player like Legault would fit in very nicely.

Tab Lardner played a great game last night. He is skilled, plays the penalty kill, and has been an asset to the Komets. He is a dangerous player for the opposition to cover. He will score and contribute greatly to the team. He has been a nice addition.

While it may be true that some could criticize Chris Francis for holding on to the puck at times, it is refreshing to see a young player hustling and trying as hard as he is.

Shrock and Leo have been the most consisitent at finding the back of the net and I think Curadeau will, too. I find Curadeau always going top shelf with his shots and I wonder why he doesn't try to go low. I think a change will provide more goals and at worst a rebound or even a face off.

I want to congratulate Burgee regarding his last two posts. How refreshing to read his thoughts on the game and not the "negative nellie" stuff. Keep it up Burgee. You have a lot to contribute.

I, too, am wondering what the hold up is on the young Russian kid. You would have thought by now that his immigration papers should be through the system. Can you give us an update, Blake?

I believe Chaulk will be back very soon but he did play a game in Europe two or three nights ago and had two assists. I don't know what to believe about these rumors of Snwball and MacMillan. I'm not real sure how they answer the problem of scoring more goals.

I want to close by wishing everyone on this blog a very Merry Christmas. I want to thank Blake Sebring for allowing us to vent, speculate, and exchange thoughts.

Thanks also to Tim Hoke, Randi Marcum, and Otto for their production of the "Game of the Week".

So, to EVERYONE, be safe and have a Merry Christmas!!!!

I thought curadeau played a decent game , but with all the chances he creates you would think hes bound to get on a streak . maybe playing with a player like chaulk , would result in more goals.

So brian, sarcasm IS your strong suit I can see. You're VERY adept at picking it up. Hopefully the capital letters help you out a bit, Champ.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 2:42pm

Sometimes when I read these responses, I think that I might have gone to see a different team. LeGault's average shift times were 20-30 seconds...he was pulled while the rest of the line were left in tact...he certainly takes up space and inadvertently broke up plays without knowing it...he plays his position "well" because he does not move much based on his overall slowness....he needs to be removed....he is there for some forward relief occasionally and may be around if the others score goals....
So much for a few comments and observations...wow!

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 3:35pm

While I don't think that Legault is the most gifted player in the world, I see no reason not to compliment him on a job well done. Neither do I understand why "Who" would have such venom for him.

I've always been one who respects differing opinions from mine and encourages other posters to offer their thoughts as long as they were done in a respectful and tactful manner.

I find that the last line in WHO'S post, "So much for a few comments and observations...wow!" to be pretty sarcastic.

WHO, you wouldn't happen to be, or be related to little Cindy Lou WHO would you?

I ask the question because you seem to have a lot of the Grinch in you.

I'm glad I saw a different game than you, and I'm glad I have a very different perspective of things that you have also.

Still, I meant what I said previously and hope you have a Merry Christmas anyway.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 3:51pm

My last LeGault comment for this game-these are comments, not venom (you need to review your dictionary definitions), and nothing more. If the comments were not "done in a tactful and respectful manner" they would not have been printed on this blog (based on prior reviews).
Maybe what the blogger says about "respecting differing opinions from mine" means if not viewed as being appropriate in your eyes then they are deemed just not proper and therefore spiteful and malicious....unbelievable.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 4:12pm

Oh my...this exchange between Alan and WHO is humorous. To make sure we were all on the same page, the dictionary definition of humorous is as follows: Having or characterized by humor; funny; laughable; comical.

I think it is safe to say that you disagree on a particular player and his ability in this game. I feel Legault played fairly well. He wasn't a liability on the ice and he did a decent job.

You two are humorous. Again, thank you for the laugh.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 4:51pm

If this was meant to be humorous you would have seen some "amusing or comical" comments...non were made. Certainly if you believe Mr. LeGault is a non-liability, plays fairly well, played a smart game and would eventually fit in well with the K's, you-all need to set your sights on a lower level hockey league, where Mr. LeGault's 'talents' might be better appreciated....but not in this league. Your comments are amusing to me for there lack of insight on this player.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 5:10pm

who - Go back and reread my post. I stated for a game my insight on how I believed he did, not the whole season. Also, it seems to me that unless a person agrees with you, then their "insight" is incorrect. I have a funny feeling if Legault scored 30 goals in a game, you would still find issues with his play.

It is obvious you do not like Legault or anyone who would dare to make a positive comment about him. I would suggest that anytime Legault takes the ice to simply close your eyes. I would hate for you to watch someone play for the Komets with less "talent".

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 5:14pm

You guys see Legualt last night?? Strong game he turned in. :-)

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 5:41pm

komets123, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to accomplish with your multiple quotation marks??? Not sure if that's sarcasm, an attempt at humor, or an utter lack of regard for punctuation??? I would try and have more respect for Blake's blog and properly punctuate your sentences... Thanks...

:) :) :)

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 6:01pm

JR1 - On this post where are my quotes? do you really want to start a grammar war on the boards? I am up for it if you wish, but I feel that just gets extremely obnoxious and boring.. So why not use your best efforts to figure posts out w/o asking about punctuation and grammar?

mr. snufflupugus
Thu, 12/23/2010 - 6:06pm

WHO is on first?

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 6:07pm

JR1 - Flipping though my recent posts, I fail to see your claim to my "multiple quotation marks" (that was in quotes because you said it). Show me in the right direction and perhaps I can educate you as to my meaning on the post. You seem confused enough without my posts tripping you up any further... By the way, when you talk about poor punctuation you and I share a similar problem.. Why would you call me out on quotes when you use far to many question marks at the end of a sentence??? Now honestly I don't care b/c I do the same thing.. Lets try not to be a hypocrite though.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 6:41pm

Support of the K's LeGault by folks such as yourself and the other fan included in the you-all comment is nice and YOU are entitled to your opinion. He does not accrue time on the ice for many reasons. If he was a better all around player my opinion might change (insight aside). I have in the past found issues with players scoring more goals depending on the night or succession of nights they had...however none have had continuing bad night after night....there was a reason he was traded last season.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 6:49pm

Wow, I goofed up my attempt at humor...lol... thinking question marks and typed quotation marks...

You can take it easy though sunshine.... I typed the wrong word; but I think most would have noticed that I was punctuating everything in 3's on the post and poking fun at the other discussion like you were... if you can't take a joke, then fine. I will save my feeble attempts at humor for someone else... I thought you could take it. You sure were quick with the defensive posts.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 7:29pm

JR1 - Incorrect. I simply saw an opportunity to debate. You called me out on my writing technique, and I was more than happy to oblige. I found the entire conversation humorous as a matter of fact. You accused me of something I hadn't even done yet...Seeing as how you meant punctuation and not quotation it makes a bit more since..

For future note. When i use multiple punctuation such as (...... or ????) . I simply do so for 2 reasons. Sometimes I am in thought and use that as a "nervous gitter" type of response. It gives me a moment to allow my mind to think ahead while keeping my hands busy on the keyboard.. Other reason I do it is to allow a space between thoughts. Perhaps make the reader give pause without abusing a (,). Well there is my defense of my punctuation quirk.

What is your defense for using the term quotation instead of punctuation?

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 7:31pm

JR1 - The "sunshine" attempt at a jab was humorous as well.. Or were you really uptight and losing your cool?? maybe you should have tried punctuation or quotations to make it clearer??

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 8:10pm

"Since" and "sense" seem to be confusing to all of the grammar experts. Just having fun. Merry Christmas everyone.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 8:13pm

Tis the season to be jolly! No wait not here i guess. Did some or one of us get up on the wrong side of the universe? Notice only one question mark so far per sentence. Oh well. WHO are you who who who who. I really want to know. Peace all. Good game Komets! Not bad #82.

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 9:57pm

I miss winning, complaining about the crappy IHL, and hearing about Schebig's speedo at Burgee's pool party.

JR and Komets123 are reminding me a BigSnake vs. Galbraith staged fight.

Hit Somebody!!!
Thu, 12/23/2010 - 9:57pm

"WHO" the heck cares???

I thought JR was kidding around.

I thought 123 was kidding, but now I am not sure.

Horton hears a WHO?

Mr. Big Stuff......WHO do you think you are?

Is is WHOM or WHO.....that always messes me up.

Can I get a ruling from the grammar and spelling police.....

Enter Wendy I am sure......

Thu, 12/23/2010 - 10:10pm

Hit, got it... The only time I use smily faces is when I am feebly attempting something that could remotely be considered humor.... Especially considering I always multiply my punctuation.... Oh well, maybe 123 is having a bad day?

I will only joke around with JM, HIT, and GM as I know they can take a joke...

Hit Somebody!!!
Thu, 12/23/2010 - 10:27pm

You can't joke around with me or I will get seriously offended and cry.

Hit Somebody!!!
Thu, 12/23/2010 - 10:43pm

The Blog lesson for today:

2 things you cannot joke about-

1) Jaromir Legault and his playing ability or lack there of.

2) Grammar and Spelling as it pertains to blogging.

Otherwise.....Mightbite+Komets New ToughGuy=Double Nutted Fruitcake.

Foo Foo Foo....Harry Fistmas.
