Yes Frenchy will be greatly missed and I think that it was a really stupid decision on behalf of the Frankes. I'm not going to blame the coach b/c it was the Frankes. They make the final decisions. Hopefully they can find another goalie that is just as talented as Frenchy. Good Luck to Frenchy and hope that he stays in Fort Wayne and retires. I don't want to see him in another teams uniform. It just wouldn't feel right to me.

Guy De Noncourt, that's a great old name. Used to line up at the hash marks of the face-off circle. I think the Komets have had more goalies reach the NHL than just about any non affiliated team in history. And the year we were the Ducks affiliate we got roly poly Mike Torchia. I will miss Frenchy. He was a hell of a guy to work with and if he has another charity game I'll sign up in a heartbeat. But in all of hockey, no one stays in one place for too long. Loyalty to a team is a rare thing these days. Why do you think so many of these guys like to stay after their playing days are done? They love the city and the passion of the fans. All of you on here show your hearts and that's awesome. This forum has been both great and grating. I know some times after I read it I want to pull what little of my hair I still have out. But if I read criticism, it makes me want to do my job just a little bit better. After a while we all get complacent with our work, but after some of the comments this year I think everyone in the organization stepped it up. The fans wanted a longer playoff run and now changes are being made to make it happen. And how many other owners of sports teams allow input from their fans? Like I've said before, the Frankes have been fans their whole lives just like a lot of us. When they see that things arent the way they should be, they try to make as many changes as possible to right the ship. And they do take it personally. We all get to know these guys on a personal level. I've played music at a few of the guys parties and wedding receptions and I hate to see them go too. It's a business that demands quick results from it's shareholders...the fans. We don't have commercials for the K's that say "Family fun, and oh yeah, we play hockey too". The Komets are proud of their heritage and try to add to it. We play to win, not to make guys advance to the next level and hope we win. Komet fans demand championships and we try to make that happen no matter how controversial the moves that are made to try and make that happen. I'm just speaking from my heart as a fan and as a proud part of the Komet family. By the time the season gets here and we have a few guys signed, the excitement will be at a high level to see what the new guys will do. Looking forward to the fall and the rise of another Komet team in the standings and here's to another Colonial Cup ring to proudly wear on another finger. Keep being passionate about the team, I know you all will.

How could you forget the greatest Komet backup goalie of all time? Of course I am talking about Ken "The Beatle" Lockett!
On a more serious note-concerning D. Franke's comments in this morning's Journal:
If the number of playoff championships a player has won is a contributing factor to whether or not he gets a contract-then I guess David would have cut Terry McDougall also.

Komets goalie next year will not be a player of veteran status...at the end of last season...word had it that Michel Robinson was dying to be the next Komet netminder...does anyone on here know what his connection to Fort Wayne is? Is it family or friends...there is some connection here, I just can't remember what it was. Mike DAlessandro would be my choice. That guy was awesome...look at his numbers.

I would rather puke in a bucket and eat it than have Michelle Robinson wearing orange and black. D'Alessandro is my choice also, the guy is a gamer!

D'alessandro deffinately that guy blew me away this season to bad he couldn;t have had a better team infront of him or maybe that's a good thing for us.
