Tailing the Komets

Komets trail 2-0 after one

Frankie is really struggling. Crowd is very small for a Saturday night crowd, especially for a jersey retirement.

Me thinks that the icemen came dressed up as ghosts for halloween because the komets cant see them when they try to pass to their own teammates . Lol

too many halloween parties or not wanting to spend $ after the fantastic showing last Saturday might explain the crowd... to bad for Guy though, deserves better

How did the fight between Henley and Sgroi go?

We got a goal Mr Snuff--Henley took care of the guy right away! Go Komets--starting to play together now--keep it up!

Mr snuffles,im gonna disagree with you. That got the crowd into the game and the players turned up the intensity. Bam, I'm gonna give that tilt to henley.henley!

My bad mr snuggles, i forgot that you are an expert hockey player. There is always someone who has to look at good things in a neg light.

dont have to have played the game to understand the game but when you criticize things like the reason for a fight then yes you do have to have played to understand the whys and why nots. enforcers are a different breed just like goalies. different mind sets and different ways of thinking. you might not like the sideshow fight but dont tell us its wrong cause to the players it actually means quite a bit.

Just having Henley in the lineup cut down on the Icemen taking liberties. The fight itself was significant in that we showed that we can match them physically. Without him on the ice Sgroi has no one to answer to. Fighting has been part of hockey forever, I don't know why you are so quick to dismiss it as part of the game Snuff. I would have been fine if they hadn't have fought. The fact is that Henley's presence means that someone like Schrock doesn't have to climb a ladder and give away 60lbs to go with Sgroi.

Well said Chuckitt. If I remember correctly; whey Henley first came to us a few years back, our captain said during an interview that "everyone skates a few inces taller when he is in the lineup". If our players think it's important, I think that speaks for itself. If it wasn't important they why do the Icemen, and other teams, have a guy like Sgroi in their lineup? You may not like them, but they play a valuable role for their team.

I'm nothing but a casual hockey fan, but even to me it sure looked like Evansville wasn't shoving us around like they did a week ago. I was at both games. On a side note, I'd like to see E'Ville without O'Connor in their lineup. Just my 2 cents.

If the K's weren't pushed around, its cuz Henley was there. Did Sgroi throw his weight around?

Hmmmm...why would that be?

The fight, regardless of the outcome, sends a message.

Hockey isn't just what it is on the surface.

Mostly because just like last week, Sgroi never got off the bench.

Sgroi was all over the ice last week, Blake. I was sitting right next to the E-Ville bench. He was out there for 5-10 minutes, easily, long before the blow out.

I have to agree with Hit. I sit in 217 a few rows behind the visitor's bench. Last week I specifically paid attention to Sgroi as he trolled the ice a few shifts each period just looking to rough guys up. Not a lot, but a few each period.

Tonight, I didn't see him on the ice after the fight. He may have been but it had to be rare because I didn't notice. That has to let our guys play more loose not having to worry about that goon.

So we brought in Henley to control things against Evansville? Because Dayton, QC and the Blaze don't have any tough guys. And those four teams are the teams we play pretty much all season. Rapid City and Wichita are different teams this year too and not so tough. Hope he can contribute.

Blake Sebring

That was the advantage with Henley. He can actually play a regular shift, too.

Brent is very happy to be back in Fort Wayne. The Franke's are an absolute class act and Komet fans are the most supportive in Minor Pro hockey. Lets rock Komets!!!

Shawn you better check Rapid City and Whichita's roster because they both have a pretty impressive roster, especially Whichita's, with toughness. Henley is more than an enforcer because he can play a regular shift. Love to have the big fella back in a K's uniform.

I did check the rosters and the fights. So far this year Wichita has 3 fights in 4 games, Misssouri has 6 fights in 5 games and Rapid City has 5 fights in 4 games but 4 of those were at QC. Never mind that we only play Wichita and Missouri 2 times and Rapid City 5 times. If the Rush keep scoring like they have been they wont have to worry about fighting the Komets! We need scorers not enforcers.

Shawn
Tue, 11/01/2011 - 11:35pm

Oh and Rapid City is averaging 4 goals a game and hasn't lost at home where we play them 4 of the 5 times. Dont think theyre going to have to fight much on there own ice.
