but how many turnovers has woods made to cause us to lose a game? He still has a chance to prove himself and continue to get better....I think he will be a huge asset down the stretch. Hes a positive addition to the locker room, as does Mac, he can change the momentum of a game and thats what we need sometimes. Dont get me wrong, I like Warner, but after his hip issues, hes not the same player.

I knew this would happen but I can certainly think of a couple other players that deserved to be waived rather than Woodard.

Last time Woods was in the playoffs, he sulked on the end of the bench when he wasn't allowed to fight.

I think this was a good move by the Komets. I think Woods would be doing a lot better if he wasn't playing on the line he is. The players that he is playing with have issues handling/ passing the puck. Not sure if any one else has noticed that.

I hope he can catch on with someone. A young, decent, defenseman that can play some forward also. Seems there are teams that would like someone like that. Good luck to him.......Sometime ago I posted about the K's opening day lineups and how by the end of the season there usually is a 25-26% turnover. Let's get caught up. Acoording to the Journal Gazette dated Friday, October 16th (opening day) the Komets had 22 players on the roster. Since then the K's have cut or waived Vince Laise, Evgeny Saidachev, Blair Stayzer, Rick Varone, Travis Whitehead, and Matt Woodard. That equates to just a tad bit over 27%. Season isn't over yet.

Sorry to hear that. I had expected it before when he wasn't getting to play very much, but Woodard had been playing pretty well recently. I hope he gets picked up somewhere.

Woods has added zero. He should have been sent home.

I liked Woodard. Wish he could have gotten a fair shake as a defenseman.
I don't agree with the statement that Woodard was released to make way for the return of David Hukalo. It might seem that way on the surface, but in my opinion, I do not agree with the statement. I won't go any deeper.
I will say that this team is now better with Hukalo in the mix....it showed tonight.
I will make more comments on tonights game in the most current thread.

I think Woodard will surface somewhere else only to become a thorn in our side He was gainning at lot of time as the extra man on the bench.

The only way he can personally be a thorn now is if Bloom and FW meet in the playoffs. We're done with them, right? If the standings stay the same both Bloom and FW would have to win their first play off round. Wouldn't anyone out there mail that opportunity in right now?

And as a D man it's unlikely he is going to go on a scoring streak against the Komets and burn them. Break up some key plays, get a few assists, maybe. Beyond that I don't see much opportunity for him to hurt us.
I hope he does well for the rest of the season and has a good healthy career, but that's what I wish for all players.

I agree, sorry, I didn't mean any disrespect to Matt. It's a very complicated numbers game in the "I". Good young players are bound to catch on somewhere and hopefully find their way.
I think Alan said it on one of his posts>How important is this weekend? But really aren't the next five games going to be awesome? I don't think the word crucial is strong enough. Strong efforts against the leaders, and no let down against QC.
