It's so different to look at these old photos and notice things like a referee not wearing a helmet, players not wearing face visors, and dasher boards without any advertising.
But such great memories.....

JR1,
The people in the background appear to be better dressed.
Maybe it was to compensate for the terrible uniforms they wore then. (Teresa, I didn't like the uniforms either!)
At least the lame "teddy bear" mascot that was slower than a 450 lb oaf has been retired.
Despite some of the shortcomings of that era, there were some really good hockey teams during the late 1980s.

LOL...I did not realize anything more than a Komets jersey or t-shirt and pair of jeans was required at games (or ever)? I gotta warn you all....I am a klutz in heels, and skirts are really not my thing.

BLB,
I usually wear a comfortable pair of jeans or Dockers, and a dress shirt....the business casual look....
I was responding to JR1 about those that look like they're part of the traveling freak show circuit. BTW, Kathleen hates wearing heels and dresses also...

It's definitely Craig Channel. Not sure about the other two. I'd have to dig through old programs.

BTW - My girlfriends and I always dressed up back then. Maybe not always skirts and heels but dress pants and shirts. Dress to impress...right???!!! And another thing - spectators did not wear jerseys back then. I don't even think you could buy them until they started auctioning them at the end of season parties in the mid 80's. I once splurged and bought Robbie Laird's jersey for a whopping $80! And you could buy the road jersey at the same price if you wanted it.

Ouch, Bob....freak shows, really?! I'm pretty surprised to hear that phrase come from such a nice guy! :(
I'm having a hard time seeing who the people are in the pix, but then, I have only really been following for a few years. I am loving seeing the pictures. It is awesome. Can these all be stored somewhere? Isn't there a Komets legends website that has a bunch already on there? Would the people contributing these be willing to have them put there? All of mine are very recent, from the past 3-4 years, but I do have a few decent ones.

I would pay "good" money to see Burgee in heels and a dress!
It would make me sick but I would pay it.
