to JM....no he doesn't. And he will be guaranteed a spot...everyone will argue here that he doesn't have any guarantees.....but come on.....he is Brandon Warner.
I called it months ago. weeks after the season was over I told JR and I am sure I have posted it here more times than anyone was willing to read and I am sure most of you shrugged the idea off thinking, whatever....but BWs is coming back....AGAIN!!!
This shows you how loyal they are to certain guys no matter how they act or play on the ice. Some guys are allowed to dog it and go half speed and admit it and they come back again several times, others are just not good enough to play at this level and they are brought back.
Anyone have a reasonable answer as to why BWs comes back after his glaringly awful play last year that warranted the Frankes to bring in Matt Krug who was injured and they kept BWs off the playoff roster.
Please don't anyone take this as a personal blast. It just figures that this team continues to recycle these guys even after they play themselves to the bench.
If the same roster as last year takes the ice as last year obviously minus the departures.....I am not sure we are all that much better.
Have we replaced Lardner and OC that much really? Curdy had a bad season and Patrosso was just there. I think defensively we are better as long as it is Milam, Mango, Cescon, Frankie, Molle, Molle and maybe the kid from Michigan.
Where and how does BWs fit this roster? Is he better than Milam? Frankie? Mango? Molle? Cescon? I say no way.

It wasn't Krug who was injured it was Phillips...

Him too.
Krug had a screwed up shoulder....that is the reason he wasn't allowed to fight or bodycheck the way he likes to. He was non-physical for the most part because he wasn't totally here. He was giving a legitimate 71% of his ability and it was still better than the famous BWs.

When was the last time a non injured player who was not an enforcer and was left off the playoff roster returned the next season to the same team? Honest question...

As if his poor play wasn't enough, he went on to give a classless exit interview last year as well. Yes, Brandy Weiner, you kissed more babies, shook more hands, and signed more autographs. What were we thinking leaving you off the playoff roster?!? Why don't you come back again this year and be the best player on the other team every night! I'm gonna call him Rex Grossman from now on. Have the Colts sent him a Super Bowl ring yet?

Disappointing that a sniper will not be signed.
Dumbfounded that Brandon Warner will have a place in training camp. With the offense that the defense will provide, the need for stay at home, clear the puck defenders are needed. Warner doesn't fit this at all.
Astounded that the Franke's didn't know the limit on training camp invitees ( wasn't it them who stated over and over that they wanted to bring in thirty to thirty-five in camp?).
Some of those young forwards better be special. My "locks" didn't include Drouin or Thomas. If they stick then there will only be two youngsters up front.
Very short memories regarding the start of last season in the front office. I applaud their optimism.
I fear my pessimism.
I think this "announcement" is the worst of the entire year, so far.

Feel dismay at the between-the-lines references I am reading. Thought the Komet organization said they needed scoring and someone who was willing and able to play the "black and blue" zone in front of the net. A lot of PR saying the right things, or at least the things most of the fans wanted to hear, but now we seem to waffle on our determination for a younger and faster team. Sigh...

Agreed......
But they gave excuses....what's wrong with that? LOL
I will wait and see personally.....but I do agree with what you say
They just recycle the same 8-12 guys every year it seems.
Will these new younger guys really have a chance? They are required to keep 5 Rookies...so that is encouraging.

Wow, HIT, JUNGLE, did you play sports growing up? There's a difference between being HURT and being INJURED. You play hurt, you don't play injured. Krug played HURT. BIG DEAL. Pretty much every player does at some point during the season. Injured is out of the lineup, and clearly he played, whereas Phillips was INJURED and did not

I think the point was Krug played with a bad/seperated shoulder which was a better option than BWs.
Nice job with the whole word playing game there....you say tomato I say tomato. Injured/Hurt.....I think you are stretching it a little.
I think you understood what the point was.
Kelli Corpse played injured/hurt in a whole playoff season which was a torn ACL. Dude had brass ones.
Jungle Monkey once injured himself going to get a beer during intermission and couldn't return to his seat.

Phillips was also a -16 during the season. Bottom line is that Krug is/was a better player and better option than both Phillips and Warner.

Hit, I only hurt myself. I made it back to my seat without incident. Burgee once slipped on a banana peel at the foo-foo bar and ended up with an "injured" tailbone. Didn't see that guy up at the suite level for 7-10 days.
Now that I review, my post said "Krug was hurt. It was well documented." I'm not sure what Big Sherm's beef is with me, looks like its HitSomebody thats caused all the harm.

Whatever Andy. I don't really want to argue with you.
You are missing the whole point here. This has nothing to do with Krug. Warner was left off the playoff roster, he acted like a baby afterwards according to many, and now he has a spot back in camp. That was the point.
Are you satisified with BWs being on this roster? Or don't you think it is time we let that ship sail and try some new options outside of the same old retreads. If you love BWs on this team, it is your right to. Most of us on here are ready to turn the page. And who is he better than as a DMAN that we have in camp right now?
I just injured my hand typing and it hurts.
Krug had an Injured Shoulder last season. I won't back down on that point. He was well documented during the playoffs.
