Was St. Pierre here under a different coach here? They are blurring together in my mind.

RunningKomet and Bob. You can check me for accuracy on this because I'm just going off memory now.
I believe that Kevin St. Pierre was the number one goaltender and McWhinney was the number two goaltender under Pat Bingham. If I remember correctly St. Pierre and the Franke's had kind of decided that Kevin would not be back. Then Puhalski was allowed to talk to the Chicago Hounds about their jpb, took it, and St. Pierre signed with the K's again. ( Interestingly enough, the player who was awarded from the Hounds to the Komets in compensation was Kevin Hansen).
When Pat Bingham took the assistants job at Bridgeport (AHL) the Komets hired Al Sims. (You may remember that former Dayton Gems head coach John Marks was the other finalist.) St. Pierre's last year was under Bingham. The next season he signed with a team in the CHL.
David Franke then brought in Kevin Reiter. Al Sims had his eye on a goaltender from the CHL he was familiar with. His name was Shawn DeGagne. DeGagne had a shoulder injury but everybody seemed sure he would be OK by training camp. He re-injured his shoulder before camp began and Reiter recommended a goaltender he had played alongside a few years before. His name was Nick Boucher.
I'm pretty sure I've got the timeline correct on this.

OT: Looks like Port Huron is looking for another head coach. Drulia resigned this morning.

You are correct, Alan. St. Pierre played for both Puhalski and Bingham.
Sorry to hear about Stan the Man. I'm sure my section will miss taunting him on the bench next season.
