Blake, you were correct when you stated that you wanted to see how the K's played in the first period. They were just going through the motions. Very disappointing. It seemed to me that Boucher was very uncomfortable last night. What was going on with Shafranov? He played about every third shift instead of a regular shift. He did score the power play goal, but didn't come out again for quite some time. Anybody know?.....more stupid penalties last night. Druin took a hit that was pretty questionable but when he saw the ref wasn't going to make a call, he belted the guy in the back of the head and took a penalty. Doing that when you are two goals down isn't acceptable for a veteran. Mironovic's actions after he pulled down Varone was just as bad. He got beat on the play, the ref called the obviuos penalty, and then Mironovic gets upset.....one word describes this game, "Yuck". ( If you want to substitute a rhyming word, well that would work too)...I hope this game was just a "snapshot", and not a return to the way the K's played earlier in the year....note to Blake: Please leave the science fiction quotes to Wendy.

I think Mironovic was upset because Varone dove pretty hard.

Blake: I would've went for this one instead... "Try not. Do, or do not. There is no 'try'."

Alan: Sorry, Wendy isn't the only dork in here who watches science fiction. I must confess, I can't turn the channel when Star Wars is on ;)

I must disagree, rgurney. Mironovic clearly grabbed him and pulled him down.....Blake, I just thought of something. I was never big on science and I don't like fiction. No wonder I don't know anything about science fiction. It seems odd to me that after all these years I just thought of that.

Varone went down easy.. He did the same thing when he played here. If Danko doesn't have his stick and hands all over him to make up for the fact that he got beat, it wouldn't have been a penalty. I don't think it was a "dive".. he just didn't put a lot of effort into staying on his feet.

Alan is right about the penalties... Danko, Pc, and Woods all took dumb penalties and showed a lack of discipline. I'm more likely to overlook Danko's since he was actually trying to breakup a scoring chance. Rather than trying to skate into an altercation late (Woods), or take a retaliation penalty (Drouin)...

The defense had a bad night. I didn't notice Bertram much all night, which is good. I'll assume he did his job. Danko on the other hand was getting beat and Rodger was out of position a few times. Any word on when Bobby will be back in the lineup?

For it to be a holding call, don't you actually have to grab something? I'm so sick of seeing dives by players on both teams. It's the Winter Olympics on now guys, not the Summer.

It's interesting how we all can see the same play and yet have so many different opinions on it. It happened right in front of me (as did Druin's penalty) and I would swear he did have a hold on him. I'm not saying I'm right. Rgurney and Blake think it was a "dive". I would like to see the replay as I will keep an open mind, especially when there are two people who saw the same play, yet thought it was not holding. Things happen fast in a hockey game, that's for sure.

I just read where David Alexandre-Beauregard has signed with the Tulsa Oilers of the CHL for the rest of the season. Sounds like he has played the last year and a half with Manchester in an English league and has scored 44 goals in just 54 games. Now I know that some will say he doesn't play enough defense, that as a veteran the Komets couldn't afford him, but for a team that has a history (this year) of not scoring, I would take him in a heart beat. I would've done most anything to get him here. I know he liked it in Fort Wayne.

Two positives from last night.....

1. The K's stole a point that they absolutely didnt deserve

2. The play of O'connor and Thomas was solid and both put in good efforts... OC had some bruising hits last night that opened up a ton of space for Thomas and Drouin...

My opinions: Woods needs to remember how to take a player to the box with him in those scrums, Al needs to work on making sure the guys dont wiff on 65% of thier passes next game, They need to add Frosted Flakes to the concession stand menus for the rest of the season while the K's wear those "tiger" uniforms, K's need to add some 5 hour energy shots to the players water bottles for the games...

DAB is still playing hockey? Well, if we can't get him we can get his clone Brent Gretzky.

Not a bad idea, JR. What about adding "Special K" as a regular menu item too?

I guess agree to disagree, even if it wasn't completely a dive he webs down awfully easy.

Went I think the KOMETS waitted till some of us got there after services wed nite. They need to get it going out of the gate not putsing around. If mac or woods goes to the box better to take someone with them.

If you're talking about Kevin Hansen, they moved him to the 45 IR because a back injury.

Your favorite referee in Komet land Bob Langdon is working tonights big OHL game between the Spitfires and Icedogs. Jeff Rutherford who works the lines in the IHL is also working this game with Langdon.

where i was sitting in 203 it looked to me as danko did not hold varone however he should have been called for an elbow to the jaw, which sent varone to the ice

I saw a couple of wishes above for the team... May I add Mr. Morency to the list? From reading up on him in the AHL though, it sounds like his team and community may not want to let him go too easily.
