We'll have more later, including action video of the practice from Chad.
"Whenever Sims blows the whistle to gather the team, the last guy to the boards has to skate an extra lap. The first two players picked on were veterans P.C. Drouin and Leo Thomas."
Wouldn't you think that these two players, especially these two players, would do everything possible to show hustle and desire? Drouin already has the 71% tag applied to him, and it seems Thomas is practicing to get ready for the season by getting his non-chalant "leave-the-ice-during-a-line-change" skate perfected.
All the off season hype doesn't excuse or allow any gray areas.
Out of the 29 players in camp, these two are the first ones.
If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.
Why hustle when you already know you've made the team?
That is sad, I kinda thought we would see some new hussle from them two :(
Old habits are bad to break.
I want to give Blake a pat on the back for including that in his article. I am sure he could of just as easily not printed that.
Kamp is open. My game face is on.
I got your back too Mighty. AKA Gold Card Rick???
By the end, they got everybody, Schrocky, Frankie, you name it. Everybody was hustling, though.
Shows how the coaches are approaching this year differently because that never would have happened last year.
That tells me that NO ONE is getting a "free pass".
Tells me Sims wants to keep his job this season...
Good...this should be a great year then if they are approaching it that way.
Let's hope they can spot the young talent that will be fun to watch become new stars this season too.
one extra lap? ooooh.
At 71% even!
One extra lap absolutely KILLS you when you have done them for 2 hours. And it's being called out by the coach, not the extra lap, that matters. Competition is everything in camps. Good job by the coaches.
I can't wait for the puck drop!!
