``I wanted to go to Europe for a couple of years now, but I couldn't find a good enough feel to leave here right now. This year may be good for me. It gives me a little chance to maybe get the extra ice time now that Chaulker's gone. It's something I know I'm going to have to work for, but there's a better chance now.
I didn't want to see Chaulker leave, but I'm looking forward to stepping up again. Every year I want to get better and take the stuff I learned from Chaulk. It's going to be a good test to see how I can do this season.
I have total confidence he's going to put together a good squad.
A couple of guys i have to call and get this ball rolling so we have a good squad. I'm sure he's got some guys that he wants right now and that he's trying to get, but I'd like to help out as well.
