Alright Blake, I'm standing here like Chuck Adamson (pre-mask) waiting for a Al Iafrate slapshot.

Why don't you play that one song with the really cool beat? You know the one I'm talking about, right? LOL.
What would happen if you did a bunch of movie soundclips between the time the players leave the ice for warm-ups and you start the advertisements and announcements? That could be fun.
Oh, and what's the name of the original song you were looking for last year?

Mario Larocque's song when he scores and fights must be Bob Seger's "Like a Rock..." Is this a fair assumption?

Tue, 10/10/2006 - 3:03pm
I think the best way to use the movie clips or TV clips would be for plays durning the game. Just like the "Three Blind Mice" (that was taken away) or the "Like the Dr. said..." or "This might be..."
PS Larry, where was the "Hurry up and lose so we can get outta here!" Homer clip last Friday?

Hit,
It's a tossup. There are so many ways to go with that. Viva La Rock by Adam Ant or the theme music of the former wrestler The Rock are already on the computer.

And a question that migh pertain to you...but maybe to Scott or David...
Whay can't the Komet's have an exciting regular Pre-game introduction like those of other team's in this league and in other league's in sports...rather than just once in a while for opening night, new years eve, and playoff games. I think that might add to the overall entertainment value and also get the team and crowd excited and into the action right away. Just a suggestion...any ideas?

Hoss, all the fun sound clips will be back for opening night. We pretty much keep it simple for the exhibition games.

If you are going to play the WWE music, can you play (I have no idea who's music it is) but the "You Suck!" song?
Sorry, I had to ask...

is there any way you could get some organ music like some of the old NHL stadiums have? (ie New York)

Hit,
One of the biggest problems of doing a lights out all the time is that the Coliseum lights take quite a bit of time to come up after being shut off. We'd like to do more of a light show but lighting like that costs some serious money too. We've pitched it to a few sponsors and hopefully one of them likes the idea soon.

The local indoor football team which will remain un-named...is a decent example of a pretty good introduction that gets the crowd excited right from the start. Muskegon does a good job with that silly Fury inflatable and fog machines.
Maybe just dimming the lights, loud exciting music, and the spot lights would do the trick. Just a thought.

Shawn,
There is one really good organist in town I would love to get to record some old standards. Most teams use the same 2 or 3 organ music cd's that are available. When we did have the organist live, people didn't appreciate that he was there for the old time hockey fans. But I am always looking for more of the old organ tunes. Not the easiest thing to find these days.

Another problem with doing lights out every night is that the spotlight operators are union and make more in 3 minutes of work than most of us make in a day. Hence, not as many lights out as we would like to do.

Hi! Long time reader, first time poster... Please tell me that playing "Who Let the Dogs Out?" Friday night was a temporary loss of judgement! Ack! I don't know if anyone else remembers the song "Tarzan Boy", but it could make a really great goal song.

I think they could have a good show that doesn't use the spot lights or dimming the lights. I think we could use a "Kid of the Day" to yell out "Here are your FT Wayne Komets!" It could be a different school every game, maybe have a whole class/ church group do it on different nights. I think a baseball team did that for an inning or so. It was pretty cool.

AC/DC is always good. I like House of Pain personally. Zombie Nation is also something I know you have played in the past. I also like the Sandstorm song you play before the 3rd some of the time.
